Fun beach scene, you pay for chairs and umbrellas for the day, but they have fun casual beach restaurants, bathrooms, changing rooms, etc. for staying all day. Free boats to different beaches/restaurants in and near Positano.
Sitting on the balcony of my hotel room (Superior sea view), sipping wine and watching an electrical storm over the bay. Booming thunder and crashing thunder lighting up the dark sky, with the lights of the village stretching out below me.
There are several great restaurants in Positano which are walkable, and several more if you adventure to Montepertuso and adjoining towns. The seafood and vegetables are fresh and you can always find a delicious meat plate to compliment them
There are two roads, the top one which skirts the town and the bottom one which winds as a one way from the top road down to the square, a five minute walk from the beach. In between the two roads is a warren of tightly packed colourful houses with winding passageways and staircases that lead up and down. Walk a lot, take staircases and marvel at the way the buildings cling to the cliff side. It's a beautiful place to just get lost in.
Positano is a beautiful little town designed on a vertical axis. Colourful houses that spill down the hillside create the appearance of a stack of children's building blocks offer many fine photographic opportunities.
