We went in July, and although there were a lot of people, the beach was pleasant and relaxing. It wasn't at all crowded. The water was cold (we're from Miami) so we just enjoyed walking along La Concha. The other beach was much smaller with a younger, surf crowd. La Concha had several couples an families.

There are so many pinxo bars along Fermin Street in Old Town. Be sure to order off the calientes (hot) menus rather than limit yourself to the pinxos on the bar!

The most crowded and noisy part of San Sebastian is The Old Town and especially in the evening. But this is what gives it its charm :-) All other parts of the city are not so crowded in even in peak season.
