Things to do in Antalya
Konyaalti Beach
This seemingly endless stretch of pebbly beach isn’t short of a few spots to lay your towel on. Cool off in the transparent Mediterranean Sea, hop on a banana boat ride or fly high on a parasail. As evening draws near, watch the sun set behind the distant Beydaglari Mountains.
Kaleiçi Old Town
In the heart of Antalya lies Kaleiçi, the first section of the town to be inhabited. As you meander through the narrow streets, you’ll see remnants of the old town’s past such as Hadrian’s Gate, original castle walls and historic structures from several eras. Friendly shop owners will gladly show you their goods and may even offer you a cup of Turkish tea.
Antalya Museum
Showcasing bygone ages and ancient cities, this ensemble of exhibitions is one of Turkey’s largest and most important museums. Pass through the Hall of Gods and marvel at 15 striking statues of Olympian immortals. If things get a bit stuffy for you, shoot the breeze in the open-air section which exhibits Roman monuments unearthed in the region.
Kaleici Panoramic Elevator
The panoramic elevator at Kaleici provides easy access (and disabled access) from the main street level down to the harbourside in the old town.

We had good weather for March. Love the markets, shops, noise and hassle! Food and accommodation is great value. Antalya is perched on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean so some good views and boat trips.

Beautiful city, one of the best in the region, a lot of natural beauty around and in the city, great beach and mountains around despite the amount of concrete that is pretty much common to Turk cities.

The old town is lovely and there are excellent places to eat just into the newer part of the town. Boat trips are good too.

Recommendations for Antalya

Booking.com asked travellers...

Why would you recommend Antalya for food?

You have to be selective but some of the resterauants are incredible. especially the local dishes and the grilled fish is a must try. As a UK traveller the value for money is unbelievable.

I found the high street shops more value for money than in Fethiye, plus in Antalya they display the prices on the goods in the shop windows; which I always prefer.

pebbles on Konyaaltı Beach, sand on Lara Beach, private beach near the marina (12TL entrance)

Incredible history of Ottoman's emperor

Astonishing collection of statues.

Kaleici, duden, kurensulu, lara
