Best of Brooklyn

Everything was well-priced. I didn't find the Information Centre helpful at all. The people were friendly and helpful in Brooklyn, but not in Manhattan or in the area of Grand Central Station. New York, you will have to think of seating for the weary walking tourists and more public bathrooms at places of interest. That would be advantageous to the whole travel experience. Thank you.

Bodegas, delis, numerous mom and pop stores with very fair prices compared to Manhattan which is 10-15 minutes away, and national chains dot most neighborhoods in Brooklyn, which is perfect for being on a budget.

There's so many parts of Brooklyn to experience. This section has many subway lines that connect to South Brooklyn and you could spend 7 days there and not see every crevice of the borough.

Know where you're going! Find a few main streets to get your bearing and use them to help guide you. Don't be afraid to ask local traffic cops for directions, they're all very friendly.

Not a shopper's paradise, but it reminds me of what neighborhoods were like a decade or two ago, before the chain stores took over.

Why do you recommend Brooklyn for food?

Lots of interesting foods. Along with the very popular Chinatown being around the corner, lots of new things to taste.
