Cartlandia was home to dozens of Food Truck selections, including VooDoo Doughnuts! Unfortunately, it was closed when we visited. Nevertheless, Main Lobster was very delish. We ordered the sliders and the full course meal, both come with chips.

Any of the small eateries in the downtown area offer quality at a good price. My diet is highly restricted and nothing was too much trouble.

$28 gets you a 7-day transit pass ($5 for one day). You can even use your smartphone as a ticket. I never had to wait more than 15 minutes for any bus or MAX tram and the wait was usually 5 minutes or fewer. I never wanted to go anywhere there wasn't a stop within a few blocks and the trams looked modern and neat. The MAX even has an app that tells you how soon various bus/tram lines are coming. I could just walk on without having to insert the ticket into anything - I just had to have it handy if a ticket-checker came aboard and wanted to see it. But that only happened once in 5 days of travel for me.

Spent a few days on the coast in a place called Neskowin. The ocean views were magnificent and the lichen-covered forests reminded me of Tasmania. Go to the "Pelican Pub" at Haystack Rock if you want a great dining experience.

The light rail system is very useful for moving around. Parking is best done at parking buildings as street parking is limited in the inner city
