It was a nice friendly town...easy to get your bearings for a short visit...on the way to Yellowstone but too far away to stay during a several day journey to Yellowstone...

Riverton is a nice small, quiet town. We used this is a base for our stay and traveled from there to different areas we wanted to visit--Sinks outside of Lander, Lost Cabin and Shoshoni.

Short overnite stay after hitting the casino. Not enough breakfast choices in town.

Went to pow wow in Ft Washakie. Traveled each day about 35 miles one way, motel easy to find, used as a base traveling around.

Best of Riverton

Unfortunately we were in Riverton, WY for a funeral, that being said the people we came in contact with were very friendly. The owners of the Sundowner restaurant opened their dining room and allowed our family to gather and eat prior to the service, since most of us had traveled from out of town and were staying all over town it was nice to have a place to gather. The man who owns the Midvale Bar & Grill opened his place to my cousin's friends and family and even served the first beverage on the house. The people fed us and welcomed us to their community. We were able to just enjoy seeing our family. A big shout out to the friends of Reese Vechnak who opened their town and hearts to our family. We thank you very much. asked travelers...

How is tourism changing Riverton?

The tourism is in Thermopolis - Hot Springs State Park and the rodeo which I'm sorry I missed. There wasn't much to do in Riverton; it appears to be a stop on the way to somewhere else.

exposure to a modern Native American culture.....dining value is outstanding

I like the history of Wyoming and all the animal on display.

? short stay, didn't really see the town.
