What the Booking.com team are saying
If you're impatient to get on Sölden's slopes avoid the busy Giggijoch gondola. Try the much quieter Gaislachkogl gondola on the other side of town instead.

What's the number 1 reason to hit the slopes in Sölden?

“We skied the nearby area of Obergurgl - loved it! We did not get to ski Solden since they were filming the new James Bond movie, some of the runs were closed - BUT on Wednsdays they offer night skiing complete with a fireworks show! Sounded awesome, wish we could have timed our visit right.”

“What is really exceptional about Solden is its size, massive elevation and possibility to travel around resort, so you do not get bored easily + don't forget that thanks to Glacier this is 100% snow sure resort.”

“Variety- Long slopes, Short Slopes, Beginner, Expert, Park. If you only have one ski vacation a year, go to Sölden, and you won't be disappointed. It's where I go most often.”

“Snow”

“Elevation and glacier access. At 3000m and multiple glaciers to access, the snow is there. Additionally, the people of Solden are friendly and know the ski business.”

“A large amount of blue ski pistes (apx 70 km) and the fact that the slopes are high in the mountains, thus there is snow even at the beginning of the season”

“High altitude and genuine red runs, but because of the altitude the glacier can be closed due to bad weather making the rest of the resort crowded”

“Most reliable snow in the whole of Austria due to the glacier and the number of snow canons. They do everything they can to keep the runs open.”

“Good varied slopes. 3 peaks over 3000m make it fairly snow sure.”

“Vast mountain range with miles of slopes and breathtaking views”
