Prenzlauer Berg is one of Berlin’s trendiest districts, with its lively bars, diverse restaurants and thriving art scene.
Pay a visit to the Kollwitzplatz neighbourhood, where you will find the historic Wasserturm (water tower) and lots of stylish bars and restaurants. The adjacent Helmholtzplatz area is a great place to be on market days. Colourful boutiques and Berlin’s oldest beer garden - the Prater Garten, are located on nearby Kastanienallee.
Alternatively, you can watch a show at the Kulturbrauerei (former brewery), which also is the starting point for organised cycle tours through Berlin.
A stay in Prenzlauer Berg would not be complete without a visit to the Mauerpark (former site of the Berlin Wall), a popular meeting place during warmer months.
