It’s a small hotel - only two rooms on our floor which helps with noise and lift being available quickly. Location is great - very close to the station and walking distance to the old town. We enjoyed the complimentary welcome drink at Hid’s Cafe which also does an excellent battered fish and chips. The room was the most spacious we had in Japan with a luggage rack and plenty floor space to leave a second bag open on the carpet. As well as space to hang up clothes if needed. There was also an ironing board and iron which was unexpected. We could charge both our devices using the USB ports next to each bed. The bed was very comfy and noise insulation excellent. There is free water dispenser on the 3rd floor and washing machine and dryer.

The staff is amazing and very helpful. They always answered my questions before I get there, they speak English and helped me with many things and we received a cute congratulations message for our wedding anniversary. The room is amazing, very spacious and clean with all amenities. The hotel is very close to the station and the attractions. I recommend!

Situated in the centre of Takayama, Chisun Grand Takayama is set 200 metres from Takayama Station and 2.3 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. Good location, near bus station. Good public bath. Room is clean and tidy.

Situato a Takayama, a 1,4 km dall'Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, il FAV HOTEL TAKAYAMA offre un bar e un parcheggio privato. I liked the spaciousness of the room. L shaped couch which could be laid on. Nice kitchen area. Washer a huge plus as I had clothes from 9 previous days to wash and dry The hang dryer in the bathroom was efficient. Staff was always professional, polite and friendly. English spoken was better than average even though I have decent travel Japanese No pun pun (long, angry) faces there. Not overly helpful but just right with proper affect. I've stayed in hotels, guesthouses, Air BNB in Japan for over 200 nights and as far as spaciousness , cleanliness and comfort of the room it was in the top 5, and I have stayed in some good hotels, Hilton,Mitsui Garden,Prince hotels etc. It is not a luxury hotel with a huge lobby , many scurrying people around trying to help, BUT it was a luxury room with 2 large full beds and 2 large bunk beds above them. I had room to do my morning exercises and stretches..jumping jacks, stretches, running in place and there was room for another person. It was a 15 min walk from old town which made it out of the way. Only drawback which wouldn't stop me from staying again was few eateries proximal to the Fav but it isn't a deal breaker. All in all.....GREAT. I wish more place in Japan were like the FAV.

This hotel is right behind the Takayama JR station, super close! Breakfast and dinner was provided as well which was super delicious. But do go early for the meals as they run out towards the end, especially the Hida beef during breakfast. At the reception, they provide skincare products, bath bomb, additional toiletries and even shoe drier which was a life saver as our shoes were drenched from walking in the rain the whole day. Will definitely come back to this hotel in the future!
