Days Inn - Long Island City Pleasant 6.5 We got in a night early, and even though the hotel was booked up, Sam at the desk found us a room. It was 3am and we were grateful. The price is probably the best that close to Manhattan, that I've ever seen. If I had read all of the reviews on here first, of this hotel, I might not have booked here, and that is unfair to this great little place. I'm writing this long review because my teenaged daughter and I had a GREAT experience here. The room was perfect, the bed really comfortable, the huge flat screen TV wonderful. We had a little mini fridge, and that was very handy, and there is a coffee maker and a safe in the room as well, and a fully equipped bath. We could only get a king bed due to the sold out situation, but it was huge, so we were fine. I want to personally commend Sam at the front desk on his guest service- he sat down with me and explained the subway system with the map in his hand personally, so there was no possible chance we would get lost. He went above and beyond, and I appreciated that, because my daughter was not feeling well. Long Island City (Queens) may not look like the best neighborhood but I assure you it is perfectly safe, as I am originally from NYC and hadn't been back in 9 years. And the location so close to Manhattan cannot be beat. It was 10 minutes to both Grand Central and Times Square on the subway. We forgot some toiletries, but it was no problem, because they had everything we needed at the desk. Rahul on the day shift was delightful, as well as Sam. We did not have the parking issue I read about on here about this hotel, since we took the bus from West Virginia- but I have to ask, who drives to New York City to stay in a hotel and expects loads of parking? This is not a Days Inn located at the side of some obscure highway, it is New York City. If you drive in NYC, you are nuts anyway, with the subway only steps away from the door of the hotel..
La Quinta Inn Queens Good 7.3 Even though it was right by the train, it was extremely quiet. The room and bed were very comfortable. I barely even heard hall noise; and I slept great! Being two blocks from the train stop & only a 20 min ride to Times Square was really nice.
Ravel Hotel Good 7.4 Fantastic location! The hotel shuttle runs often and takes you to local restaurants and the subway. The room was clean and the bed was great. Our view was also amazing. Definitely returning to this hotel :)
Ramada Long Island City Pleasant 6.9 Great experience great prince...
Best Western Plaza - Long Island City Good 7.7 The location was very close to the F line and in two stops we were in Manhatten. Breakfast was varied and plentiful... you could eat as much as you like. The staff was efficient and friendly. The hotel has no restaurant, but there are places to get something to eat nearby...nothing fancy but good food. The room was very nice, Wi-fi worked perfectly and vending machines for drinks and snacks were available. I'd definatley return here.
Sleep Inn - Long Island City Good 7.9 Convenient location, stores and restraurants close by. Good breakfast....Metro stations very near.
Verve Hotel Very good 8.3 clean , quiet, easy to reach, value for price excellent near subway.
Q4 Hotel Good 7.6 - Very new, clean and comfort sleep - Only 4 beds and with attached bathroom - Near subway - Kitchen and game room - Voucher cards and map provided. - Only few minutes to Grand Central.
Nesva Hotel - New York City Vista Very good 8.3 The Nesva is an excellent choice - cannot recommend highly enough. 2 minute walk to train into Manhattan but not noisy at all. Hotel was spotless; Staff were extremely friendly and helpful; room was great and breakfast was a nice selection of items.
The Local Hostel NYC Very good 8.5 It's my first time in NY, they say NY is dirty, hahaha! And with the very cheap rate of The Local I was expecting it to be unkept well... but I was surprised with how clean the place is. I like it's modern design, cozy and spacious areas where guests can chill and hangout with fellow stay-ins. I highly recommend The Local for backpackers! I am definitely coming back the next time I visit with my friends!
