The King of Jamaica restaurant is a 2 minute walk away and serves great local food in a nice atmosphere. A great stay, particularly if you are looking for an authentic and local experience.

Everything was perfect : - the neat, clean and cosy room with view on the nile. - the peaceful atmosphere, watching the sunrise on nile in the early morning - the location of the hotel in a typical nubian village - the availability and kindness of Mr Mahmoud, the hotel manager, who made our stay perfect. - the different tours offered by the hotel at competitive prices - the copious breakfast and delicious dinner - the kindness and hospitality of the hotel staff In short, we had a wonderful time at Kato Waidi and we fell in love with Nubia. 2 nights were not enough. Everything was beyond our expectation and we recommend Kato Waidi. If we have the opportunity to visit Nubia again, we would definitely return to Kato Waidi.

Located in a truly Nubian environment, the Elephantine Island, this is the perfect place for a pleasant and peaceful stay. However, you will not feel isolated. The guesthouse provided pick up and drop off at the pier Ahmed, Mustafa and their family members will go beyond their limits to make sure you are having the best time. They were able to suggest tours and felucas for reasonable prices, avoiding the mental stress of bargaining. Away from the busiest and crowded city side, the Nubian family is warm and friendly. They respect your personal space at the same time they are always there for you. The breakfast provided was delicious and always delivered as per our requested timings. Dinner was under request, as per our liking and freshly cooked. They surprised us with tasteful grilled fishes from the Nile. AC works perfectly, fan is also available in the room. We spent part of our stay swimming in the river, the area is calm and safe. For more of that, there is a tiny beach just across the river (they can take you there by boat). The sunset from the house is just amazing. A hidden gem where the clear and refreshing waters of the Nile are just two steps away from you. Highly recommended.

Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Especially thanks to Ahmed, we could spend great time there. The guest house is located in the heart of Nubian Village, people are great. Very clean and cute rooms. Good value for a cost efficient trip. But the greatest part was the breakfast. It was humble but the best, especially comparing similar hotels and guest houses in Egypt. We will always remember this cute village and Lawanda Nubian House. Thank you!

Rehab was a very helpful host. The place had real family vibes, as she said "it's not a hotel but just a Nubian home". As we arrived near the end of the season we were nearly the only ones and truly felt like we were staying at someone's home, amidst the lovely cooking ladies and their kids

Super clean, nice, and hospitable. It's more of a guesthouse so if you are looking for a more local experience, this is your spot. Location-wise, it's not in the hustle and bustle of the main town, however, it's only a short inexpensive boat ride across the Nile, which to me makes it a fun feature. Full on breakfast to start your day, and a super delicious dinner I ordered on one of my nights. The host and his family are super welcoming and helpful, always in tune with their guests.

Mustafah was a truly special human being. He treated us very well, like family, and he helped us with everything we possibly needed. Everything was modest but extremely clean and we were very comfortable. What the hostel lacks in luxury or decoration is more than amply compensated by the honesty, kindness and professionalism of Mustafah and his staff. Definitely a place to go back to.

Interesting location, on an island and the access is with a water taxi. We were pleased with Mustafa and Yousuf, who helped organize our family tours around Abu Simbel and Aswan and also our driver, Isaak, who was great.

Nothing. Not as described. Too far from aswan. The worst breakfast of my life. Kids did not it. I will never go back. The manager wasted 2 hours at the check in and the day was lost. I will be making a complaint and get a refund.

David and his family were great. Very helpful to arrange tours and answer questions. Large room. Clean. Price is affordable for backpackers and the quality is like a hotel. Location is the best for people who want to take it easy in aswan after so much movement around the country. 100% recommended without a doubt
