The position of the hotel

The meat at dinner was always tough

What did I like about the Cala Vinas - in a word, everything. The rooms are spacious and clean. Facilities are good and location is superb. Views from the rooms are stunning. The bright lights of Magaluf are a mere 15 minutes walk away or 5 minutes by taxi ( which isn't expensive - and there is ALWAYS at least one outside the hotel.). Food is good with plenty of choice so expect to put on a few pounds. If you like sausages with your breakfast they have proper English ones ( Tasted like Walls to me ). We stayed half board and there are some good little Bistro's and bars within 50m for a snack during the day. We are just home and thinking of re-booking for next year.

I didn't see the apartments but I had read reviews before we left and I was hoping we weren't in them. When we were checking in a young couple were at reception saying that they would not stay in them and that they had been led to believe that they were staying in a 4 star hotel, so get confirmation before you book that youare in main hotel. The area between Cala Vinas and Magaluf is hilly and so not suitable the elderly or infirm.

The location is ok. The quality of the food is good.

The parking supposed to be free (see the page in booking.com) but they charged 10 euro/5 days .

1. Gym was very very old, broken and extremely dangerous 2. Staff was friendly and relaxed, but a bit "too relaxed" and often reluctant to give good service. 3. Many things were broken in the hotel (almost no TV channels) and there was construction work going on all over the place without any apology or warning to the guests.

The location of the hotel was perfect. The service was very good.

Good and varied food (in particular dinners), nice indoor swimming pool, beautiful view from the balcony, hotel location (in nice calm area, yet 20 minutes walk to Magaluf) next to the sea shore.

Slippery tennis court ground, expensive and not varied beer in a hotel bar, monotony of hotel guests (old German pensioners)

The sea views were superb and the staff great - the bar man in paritcular. It's a lovely hotel in places.

Parts - our bed in particular - could've been modernised. It seemed old and creaky. Also, the food, while plentiful and excellent in places, was poor in others - especially when left out. But a good and varied spread if you got there early enough.

Matsalen hade föe mycket lysrörsbelysning. Ej mysigt alls. Middagsbuffen var inte bra.

Las bebidas en el bufet, hay que salir del rest, para pedir una cerveza.

la situación del hotel está muy bien, las vistas desde la habitación son muy bonitas. La habitación era grande y espaciosa.

la limpieza de la habitación bastante deficiente, el desayuno no era nada variado, siempre ponian lo mismo, no calificaria al hotel de 4 estrellas, más bien 3 estrellas
