I e-biked to a lake and explored the surrounding area on 1 day, and e-biked to Salzburg on a different day. There's a conveniently located bus stop for a bus every 30 min (except Sun) if you prefer public transportation. I found the public bus was similar quality to a US excursion bus and safe late at night. There's a free app that is worth downloading.

Only 400 metres away from the centre of Kaprun, Pension Patricia was completely renovated in December 2016, offers free WiFi and free parking in a quiet location. We loved this place! I’d say the room looked even better in reality than in the photos. It had everything we needed including a mini fridge and a kettle. The staff was very friendly and would look after our luggage after we checked out and went to do some sightseeing. It’s a very calm location but close to the bus stop that takes you everywhere you need. And the cherry on top is the Summer Card. So it’s a wonderful hotel and great value for money. And who wouldn’t love such a view through the window?

Panorama Apartments - Steinbock Lodges has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Zell am See, 2.4 km from Casino Zell am See. Was a fantastic apartment. The kitchen is well equipped, the apartment is spacious, the rooms were comfy and the balconies were lovely to enjoy the mountain views. Was great as it is on the lake and you can see it from the rooms.
