We enjoyed staying in the hostal. Maria, the host, helped us with various things, she was very friendly and attentive. The value of comfort/location/price is ideal. The price is low as compared to the hotels, it is locatied not far from the center of the city, near the beach, Ahu Tahai where you can make amazing photos of the sunset is within walking distance from the hostal. If we come back to Rapa Nui, we will book the hostal again with no doubts. Thank you very much!

Everything! This is a lovely place to stay on Rapa Nui. You are a short stroll to the center of town, to the Ahu Tahai and the ocean. Carlos and Pamela are the most gracious hosts. They will make you feel welcome and can help arrange tours, etc. You really could not ask for better hosts. The rooms are very nice and super clean, and have a small fridge. . My bed was so comfortable. The shared kitchen is spacious and clean and well equipped. There is a living room to hang out in and a nice backyard. Hostal Makohe, in my opinion, is really a step up from the usual hostal.

Highly recommended! The host is amazing and spoke 4 languages! The host and whole family are extremely friendly. They treated me just like a family member or close friend. From the time when they picked me up from the airport, they sent me flower on the neck. I felt quite happy and satisfied. They provided me with maracuya juice when arriving at the house. The breakfast is great too. Most importantly, they helped me connect to the great tour, which has really good price and two half days trips. From the tour, I saw the amazing sunrise from Ahu Tongariki (15 Moai). Best travel experience ever!
