It is a beautiful pub and restaurant, so picturesque and quiet. I had read the reviews and noted that the restaurant closes at 6pm on Sunday, so we arrived in time to order. Great feed, good beer, lovely staff! We stayed because we were flying out of Stansted the next morning. We hired a car for the night from Stansted as it worked out cheaper and easier than booking taxis. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is a hidden gem. The room was large and basic, with everything that we needed. Very clean, comfy beds, lots of extra pillows. The room had an iron and ironing board, which was very useful, expecially if your there for business. The bathroom was great with a bath and constant hot water. The bar connected to the rooms, was very nice, with a log fire, a great selection of drinks and very taste food, and the breakfast was excellent. A full English with the best sausages I have had for a long time. I need to know what they are. The best part of this place is the staff. I highly recommend this, expecially if your there for business.

Friendly and welcoming host. My room, traditionally furnished, was comfortably large enough for an easy stay of three nights. Good bathroom with powerful shower. Everything spotlessly clean and the daily housekeeping was excellent. Good breakfast. Easy parking. If you have an electric car then the Tesla and Applegreen charging station at Birchanger Green is just a couple of miles away - I used it twice.

Andrew, our host, was absolutely fantastic in making sure the apartment was very conformable and also picked us up from Stansted for a much cheaper price than a taxi. Would definitely stay here again and recommend other people to book here as well.

The owner was really accomodating and helpful as the hotel we had booked was shut so we turned up on the day and she made us feel really welcome. The room was clean and well maintained with everything you need. The garden is beautiful and I wish we had had more time to appreciate it.
