10min from the railway station / avtovaksal by bus, plenty of buses here, staff very nice, always perfectly clean, big kitchen, nice shower. Great price/quality ratio, and I had some nice conversation with the administrator. And there is a bakery/cofee <5 min walking so great for breakfast !

It’s on the 5th floor and there is only lift access (couldn’t see any stairs anywhere). Some noise from neighbours. Bed was soft and could feel some springs so was improved by putting the duvet under. You can’t get into the property without the owners as there are key fobs for the door and lift. Therefore you need a definite arrival/departure time and a place to meet as the entrance is not obvious. Restaurants nearby.

Location is great: set back from the streets, but close to everything (sites, park, shopping, restaurants). And super great communication with the hosts - Miras (the son) speaks super English - which was particularly important as I had special requests both for my arrival and departure. Good breakfast, not too many options, but they have everything for everyone. All tasted good. Friendly staff. Comfy and soft beds. Good value for the price. The decor was very beautiful and rooms are beautifully decorated with eye for detail, one of the most estherically pleasing hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

Rimir and his wife were so helpful when I got lost in the city. As a tourist from the West fascinated with the former USSR staying in a Krushchevka in a city with a strong Soviet Heritage was a real novelty and it has been fun telling my friends about that. Rimir helped me get to Karlag which is a very sobering and educational experience. In summary my hosts did everything they could to ensure I got the most out of my short stay in Karaganda.LeonSolo traveler
