“This is a delightful hotel, originally built as a private mansion and retaining most of its original features. It is truly a one-off and a charming place to stay. The welcome was extremely friendly, the breakfast excellent and the location, close to a metro station, was very convenient. The availability of free on-site parking was also very helpful in this near-central location. We would happily stay in the hotel again if visiting Porto.”
“The Peninsular is ideally located - easy to get to from the airport, and in the middle of the old city centre for exploration and dining. More importantly, the place is run by a very nice couple, and their staff were frankly amazing: extremely helpful and super friendly. They really made our trip a huge pleasure. (Also, we loved the breakfast - don't let anyone tell you otherwise).”
“Got what I expected. Yes there are stairs and the room did not have a view but it was warm and perfectly adequate - so was the continental breakfast. Great value and great location.”
“The best of Portugal is the Portuguese.”
“We were here on our honeymoon and got our room upgraded. The place is gorgeous with large rooms, windows and doors. The breakfast blew us away-- so many options and all homemade. Mariana is the embodiment of true Portuguese hospitality and she was willing to do anything to make our stay as comfortable as possible.”
“We liked everything in "Favorita". The bedroom was very nice and confortable! The garden was amazing. The breakfast was so good! It was a 5 star level breakfast! We loved it!”
“The staff was warm and welcoming...gave great recommendations for food and fun and there's a turtle!!”
“location nice bars in the neighbourhood close to public transport”
“The location was perfect for us. It is situated in a very quiet residential location, there was no noise from the city, so we slept very well. The lady that arranges breakfast is a treasure, even tho' we don't speak Portuguese and she doesn't speak English, she made us feel very welcome, she always had a lovely smile and was so helpful. Everything in Porto is within walking distance from Cosme. Within five mins walk from Cosme, beside Passeio De S Lazaro, there is a small square with a few local bars which were super for a night cap.”
“Great spot, central and very secure building. Neat experience for us”
“We liked a lot the location... Porta Azul Guest House is the perfect accommodation if you want to explore Porto. Situated on the edge of the city center, literarlly all places of interest are in walking distance, even the Port wine caves on the other side of the Douro. And it takes about 15 min to get to the airport. I adored the stuning room with an ensuite bathroom, the attention to detail when it came to furnishing. I was impressed by how the new design married perfectly the old colonial style. But what we absolutely loved and what really made the difference were the hosts and the atmosphere they created! not for a second did we feel that i were staying in a hotel. Perdro's tips and guidance were essential to our trip. Absolutelly loved how effortlessly friendly and familar they both were. They give us a very warm welcome and did the utmost to make your stay just wonderful. Thank you once again! just can't wait to come back and could not recommand it enough.”
“I loved everything. I came around 11pm and they had arranged somebody to wait for me. The breakfast was superb and very high-quality ingredients. The room was great, tidy and spacious. The staff really made me feel at home and they took very good care of me with very helpful chatty attitude. I will definitely go back!”
“Fantastic young team. Great service ethic. We took advantage of the wine and food degustation and a cooking class... Both were excellent. Great beds and amenities. Beautiful garden for early morning tea. So many small touches. The attention to detail and design shows a stylists eye.”
“Booked a Superior room, including breakfast for 4 nights over the internet. We received prompt emails giving good directions and it's an easy walk from Sāo Bento rail station. On arriving we were graciously greeted by Olga who took time to explain the city and point out a couple of restaurants for us. InPatio is a newish place with very clean uncluttered lines. There is no person elevator, but there is one for the luggage, a definite bonus. Olga showed us our room on the second floor. A light airy room with openable windows to the courtyard, but there is also an a/c system. There's a safe, TV, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and a great ensuite with a great rain shower. Complementary toiletries as well. Everything is very clean and works well. Wifi is free and fast for the pc, but my iPad struggled even with the booster Olga provided. Breakfast is served downstairs from 9-11. It is actually served to your table and a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice, meats and cheeses, croissants, bread, cake and good coffee, with variety each day. We enjoyed the location of InPatio. Close to the Saō Bento station, the waterfront and walkable to all the things we wanted to see. Also, being in a courtyard, it was quieter than I suspect other places may be on the roads. Olga and Fernando are lovely, gracious people and very helpful in advising things to do and providing maps, not only of Porto, but Guimaraes for our day trip, and suggesting restaurants. We enjoyed our time in this lovely B and B and recommend staying here”
“I really like the location, it was near everything and you can walk and enjoy the places nearby!... the Room was perfect! clean and comportable. The staff was very kind and helpful all the time!”
