It is a great location in the peaceful countryside but with easy access to Appenzell and all of the nearby lifts. Breakfast is included, and a lovely restaurant offers delicious meals. Corinne was a fantastic host.

We stayed 2 nights beginning of June. If you like traditional places, you should visit Waldgasthaus Lehmen. You would be surrounded by natural forest with a view on Appenzell Alps. One of the most common sound during the day is various bells on cow necks. We were lucky to see how Appenzell farmers bring their cows to the mountains. The farmers have very beautiful cloths! On Saturday we saw a group of farmers, who came in their traditional dresses to Lehmen restaurant and had a few hours of singing and enjoying food. The restaurant is very good, if you like Swiss food. You must be hiking in that region, otherwise food might be too heavy. I had pork steak, pork schnitzel and beef steak with noodles and mushrooms. All dishes were very tasty. You have to try local beer! And Lehmen whisky! Highly recommended! Very nice! Service is impeccable, fast and attentive. All personnel is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful! I would prefer, if it started at 7 instead of 8… Our room 17 was great, soft pillows, comfy beds, bath, simple but cozy design. The hotel has a playground for kids. Parking is huge.

Situated 1.5 km from the Schwende ski lift and 3 km from the Ebenalp ski lift, Loosmühle features a bakery, a snack bar and a café on site. Very nice, spacious, clean room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Even when my travel plans changed somewhat due to the weather, the owner was nothing but friendly and helpful. Maximum number of stars!

Surrounded by a park with a sunbathing lawn and a playground, the palace-style Hotel Restaurant Belvedere enjoys a quiet location in Weissbad. It offers free Wi-fi and mountain views. Ideal location, not too far from the train station. We started all of our walks from the hotel which was very convenient. Beautiful views from our room. The owners were very polite and friendly. Our breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal there also. We will definitely return.
