Everything! I felt like in a hotel. I had my own room, the facilities were clean, staff was super helpful and friendly. Also what a place! Japanese garden and rose garden is a must-see place. Amazing sunsets, beach super close, lots of wild nature. Lots of places to eat and shops. Buses from UBC to downtown go 24/7. Quiet and safe atmosphere, I felt super safe walking alone during the night as a solo traveller woman.

Very clean and comfortable hostel with great cooking facilities especially. Comfortable bed. Located in a nice quiet spot, but super easy to get to the heart of Vancouver in about 45 mins by cheap and good public transport.
Good Hostel at a decent price downtown Vancouver with a cool pub attached. I just needed a cheap place to sleep for a flight early morning. Served it's purpose.
Good location. The receptionists are nice and helpful, even allowed me to check-in 3 hours early for free of charge. This hostel makes me feel safe to stay, female washroom is always locked and needs the key to get in. I stayed only 1 night and lived on 2nd floor , it. is quiet. Kitchen is clean with some cooking utensils and has small fridge and lockers to store food.
Great location. Spacious room, clean, good amenities. Felt safe so would be good if solo travelling. Supermarkets close by. Was easy to enter the building with the access codes. All in all a good place to stay when visiting Vancouver.
Great location, safe quiet and close to the beach. So much better than expected for the price. A quick bus ride and you are in the middleof the city, 10 min walk to a ferry stop , couldn't have asked for better if you want a safe quiet place that is family friendly.
Great location and super cheap. The cat is super cute but I didn't have prewarning which If your allergic might change your mind when booking
For the money, the location was dope. Within walking distance to everything we needed. Hostel offered plenty of advice on cheap things to do in Van and how to meet other backpackers.
The Barclay is in a great location and it is cheap. It was clean but dated which is expected for the price they charge. It is about a 15 walk to the airport. Honestly, with other hotels in the city charging double, it's hard to beat the Barclay if you're traveling on a budget.
Booked a private bunk bed room which is a great option if you are on a budget and travelling as a couple (this was the cheapest option we could find in Downtown Vancouver). The beds were really comfortable and our room was quiet so we had a good sleep. Locked storage available in the rooms. Great location with lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Hot showers and good WiFi strength.
