In the Lake District village of Elterwater, the independent Elterwater Hostel offers dormitories and private rooms, with a communal lounge and dining area. clean, cosy hostel with a hiking / climbers atmosphere. Fair priced meals / snacks and drinks. the owners were really helpful and overall nice people.

Surrounded by lovely greenery in the heart of vibrant Keswick centre, YHA Keswick is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Derwentwater. It features a restaurant and self-catering kitchen. Location was amazing. Rushing water right at the front door. Could sit and watch it all day. Lots of nice places to sit watching the water rush past while you enjoyed a coffee or wine. Rooms comfortable and shared bathrooms were new, close by and kept very clean. Kitchen was large and easy to navigate with other people staying there.

Set in a stunning Regency mansion overlooking Esthwaite Water, YHA Hawkshead stands within beautiful grounds just a mile from Hawkshead village. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Pod was excellent and our trip was only let down by the lack of stuff we brought. Next time we will be better prepared and it'll be perfect

The YHA Ambleside sits on the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. It offers a range of budget accommodation and a café serving local food. The location was perfect, by Lake Windermere.

Located in the market town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Denton House Hostel is just a 5-minute stroll from Keswick Leisure Centre. The location was beautiful! It was across the street from the Greta River and right beside the old rail line that is now a walk/run/bike trail. It is a 5-10 minute walk into the centre of town and just over 10 minutes to Derwent Lake. My bed was in the annex with the main building with all the kitchen/dining area/common room in the neighbour building about 5 metres away. I loved everything!

Located in Thirlmere, Fisher-gill Camping Barn offers free onsite parking and a terrace. I had the most wonderful time here! The surrounding area is gorgeous, and coming back to a crackling woodfire and a hot water bottle after having been out on a hike is the perfect end to a day spent exploring! The owner was very kind and helpful, and the camping barn had everything I could have asked for (and more!): a hot shower (coin operated, 1 pound gets you 50' of hot water), maps of the area, comfortable beds, a fireplace and some wood already prepared, fully equipped kitchen, and even hot water bottles!

With a central location 4 minutes’ drive from the train station, Kirkby Stephen Hostel lies between Cumbria’s Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. It's a old chappelle transformed in a hostel... it's just an awesome experience. the lounge is just beautiful.

Situated in the Cumbrian countryside, conveniently located to visit the Lake District, YHA Helvellyn has on-site free parking and a bar. Wonderful staff, very welcoming.
