Carcavelos
Lisbon Surf Hostel has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and bar in Carcavelos. Boasting a sun terrace and a private beach area, this property is situated near attractions such as Carcavelos Beach, Parede Beach and Praia do Moinho. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, an ATM and organising tours for guests. Everything. Most importantly the great team of staff members and volunteers who provide support whenever you need it. While the volunteers are mainly great for the vibe inside the hostel and among guests, the founding team provides extraordinary support in regards to surf spots (how to approach them, when to go there, what to be careful with, etc.), traveling Lisbon and the area around. I have even seen some of them giving language support to a language student who was studying. You can book theoretical and practical surf classes with local legends from Carcavelos. This place is as close to perfection as it gets. Seriously, if you want to stay in the Lisbon area and explore not only downtown Lisbon but the area around as well, go here. The place is located in the perfect spot, close to public transport, with easy highway access, the beach not even 5 minutes away... Everything was clean and well-maintained, it is obvious that some passionate people put all their heart into this project. Here you will not feel like in one of these hostel factories that have popped up all over the globe, where young guests get put into a cheap location for cheap money. However, it is the contrary. Some young and nice locals fulfil their own dream to run a hostel - and they live that dream to the fullest. Have never been welcomed to a surfspot with such warmth and care. Thank you for everything, we will meet again soon!
Great location, close to the Metro and tram stop, nice white bedsheets and pillowcase, great kitchen with modcons and appliances, like the free tea bags, also like the privacy curtain in the bedroom. All in all enjoyable budget stay in an art deco style hostel. Does not feel cheap.
Best hostel ever!! I have stayed in a lot of hostels in my life but this has by far been the best experience ever! The all inclusive experience is very unique and super special. It's so easy to meet new people and I made great friends there during my trip. Rooms are big and clean and the beds come with curtains and are super comfy. Female only bathrooms. Great breakfast and dinner. Amazing location. Loved the pub crawl and literally just had the best time!! The staff is so friendly and so much fun.
It’s in a great location, in the LX Factory district and nearby Belem neighbourhood. Hostel is very aesthetically pleasing, and it’s well thought out in terms of the bunk beds/pods. I felt like I had lots of privacy.
It was amazing. Best hostel ever. Also recommend to book a breakfast and dinner. Dinner is a perfect place to meet new people from all over the world 😉
Great location, safe and very cheap.
great place, with a great location, so organised, one of the best hostels I stayed. The lady from the reception was not too friendly, she was extremely rude to me and my friend.
João was very welcoming and informative. Just to note we stayed in bunk beds, as a couple we didn't mind as we are used to hostels but be aware. Bolt was a fantastic cheap option to get around. Bit of a walk from centre. Overall, clean, comfortable and good option for Lisbon.
Great location, walkable to the city center in about 20minutes. Felt safe walking back to the hostel at nighttime alone. Was okay to start there for a couple of days. Enough bathrooms, nice kitchen.
Great location! The bed was comfortable and was nice having air conditioning since it was very warm outside. Would be a fine place for someone on a budget/ just staying for a night/not going to be at the hostel; only to sleep.
This hostel very clean and tidy . Great access to tea making facilities. Good access to metro. Manageress was warm welcoming and very helpful. Cheap and cheerful. Very suitable for backpackers and people traveling on a limited budget.
