Overlooking the Grand Canal and a few minutes’ walk from St. Stephen’s Green, The Portobello is a famous meeting place in Dublin, with traditional Irish hospitality, good food and entertainment.

First opened in 1793, the Portobello offers a long tradition of hospitality in a modern atmosphere. Conveniently located within walking distance of Grafton Street and Dublin’s city centre, the hotel makes a great base from which to explore all that the city has to offer.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and en suite and a traditional cooked Irish breakfast is included in the price. Whatever you have planned, the generous and tasty breakfast is a great way to start your day.

For those who would like to dance the night away, the Rain Nite Club is open until late on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please note that this may cause some guests to experience noise in the rooms late at night.

The room was very comfortable and clean! The staffs where very friendly!!

The breakfest was horrible! The sausages and eggs where dripping in fat! The croissant where soggy! It was very dissapointing!!

The food in the pub next to the hotel (and part of the hotel) great value for money

The hotel advised it was a 15 minute walk to temple bar, this was actually 25-30 mins.The nightclub next door on a Thursday night

Cheap and next to a pub with good food. Breakfast good value.

A mix of fairly friendly and surley staff. For me too far out of dublin - I prefered being near the temple bar. We chose this hotel as it was closer to the clubs, but they were frankly disapointing too. Stick to the temple bar if I were you.

The price was very good for a city hotel

Nobody at reception or in the kitchen at 07:15am. Was unable to check out and did not get breakfast which was paid for in the room price. Very disappointed about this as we had to leave and go and pay for breakfast elsewhere.

The staff was really nice and helpful.

The first room we received was overlooking the inner courtyard where the air circulation of the hotel restaurant was working all day all night and it was really noisy and even smelled like garlic. However, we asked to change our room and received a room with street view which was perfect.

Staff very nice and helpful, breakfast was good, the linen very clean and fresh !! and a bathtub for a 2star hotel was fantastic
