English bar friendly staff

Layout like street with pool n bar attached Irate guests at check in causing stress to other guests and staff

we went 4 years back and the experience was good .. so we recommended to a few friends ,,, BUT this time it was BAD.

The rooms were not clean enough ,,, there were little bugs in the room + the toilet bath tub was pathetic + the toiletries supplied were substandard + the fridge was stinking + the breakfast was not up to expectations ,,,, we don't think that the hotel can manage a heavy crowd on a weekend....

The room was clean, modern, large and well appointed.

The service was the worst I have ever experienced. Minibar was ordered at 5pm and arrived at 2am. Internet access was asked for but not provided. However they still tried to charge me for it. The price of 2 bottles of local water and 4 cans of Pepsi was very expensive at 110dhs. The air conditioning did not work satisfactorily, the room temperature did not fall below 24c. The staff were rude and un- interested in their job.

Liked everything over there. ....Rooms, facilities, service, food and location.

No one took the luggage for us the villas r 4 room villa shared by different people so close to each other the place in general is far from all the facilities the breakfast is included but the staff in restaurant is very rude personally didn't like it and this is my 1st and last visit to this place

The pool... The size of the room... The cleanliness...the staff at the poolside..Alex is an asset... The location and access to the beach...the golf club dining and shisha and food was way better than the pub!!! Menu was way way better...staff was ontop of things they are not appreciated enough!!! All of them work hard and are so kind and authentic.

The construction!!! Seriously...an inconvience and stressful to have to search to find a place to unload the clubs the curbs were off limits the driving round about was off limits ...a real real hassle... Took alot of energy and no price difference?? And the carts were torn up on the seats really?? Such a place and the condition of the carts?? Construction and no price cut?? Bummer? The menu at the resort... All high carbs--eggs-- processed meats---milk products... No real bacon ... I do not partake of breads, eggs, high carbs, yogurt, or sugar...so I was very limited to fruit only. The room above the pub was so noisy that I couldnt sleep the second night at all. Drunks awake and loud till almost 5 am...?

The landscape and views - good breakfast - band on the pool at night - children play ground - friendly staff

The AC in the room wasn't working - electricity went off for a while - water pressure in the bath is too weak - no slippers or shower robe - no complimentary coffee in the room ! - no fresh juice on the pool side bar at night

Access to Al Hamra Palace was the only curiosity as Al Hamra Village is not so well planned. The Suite was little far from the pool or any other facility. The landscaping was good but too small area.

1. Reception was poor. Staff (3 filipinos) took sometime to trace my booking. Were in some mess i guess. 2. Did not explain me anything just handed over the access cards. 3. Forgot to provide me towel card (which i was asked upon approaching the pool). Got it arranged later. 4. The price is not jusitifed as the Al Hamra Village is more like residential planning - not resort. 5. Access to Al Hamra Palace was to some interest to us - but each time you need to cross the road and walk atleast 200-300 mtrs to reach there. I feel this needs to be priced appropriately and not use Al Hamra Palace excuse to justify the high price. Also paid for suite with minibar, but found the refrigerator itself is empty and not working. They changed it upon informing, but no personalised apology for the mistake as the refrigerator was still empty. Will not go again.

Junior suite was good size, clean and modern in good location to facilities.

Reception staff were rude, unfriendly, unprofessional, unhelpful and slow. Swimming pool very dirty, no shade for young children. Restaurant full of flies, waiting staff very slow. Room service very poor standard.

Use of the Palace Hotel beach across the road.

There is a lot of construction in the area.

I like the Location. They gave us a room with balcony eventhough our reservation was without balcony.

they only give 1 Beach Towel per person.

Price went down by 2/3rds between the time I booked the room and the date of the stay, yet the hotel refused to reduce their price. Doesn't say much for booking.com either. Reception staff were argumentative. Restaurant staff refused to charge evening meal "to the room". Yet at the time of check-in, reception staff had insisted on pre-authorising credit card for "extras", and specifically mentioned "an evening meal". Restaurant staff at breakfast insisted on telling us we had to eat quickly before the breakfast buffet was closed, even before asking if we'd like a tea or coffee. Reception staff thought that cockroaches we killed in the room was "funny". Hotel is actually a strip of 4 en-suite rooms, 3 up / 1 down, in a building unit. Units are on a single road, in an area with construction site activity still in progress.

Rooms were clean but cold. Bed was very hard and pillows were hard

I liked that we could use the facilities at the Hamra Palace this made all the difference as we love the beach and sea and pool .

The water was cold in the pool at the golf resort .

Making use of the facilities at the Al Hamra Palace Hotel made the stay enjoyable. Good service from the staff.

No coffee facility for a 4 star hotel is very strange. Entrance door to the room was difficult to open.

The surrounding area is a fantastic hideaways for families, couples and even a group of friends. The beach is superb and the rooms are very comfortable.

The description in the web saying that "located in front of rak Ceramics and just behind Al Hamra Mall is a bit misleading because there are several residential apartments buildings there which is not the place we should be at.

Near to my place of work for the day in RAK, shower great and breakfast was decent enough; I would stay again if needed but will go the bar in the golf club, which is great, to watch the football! ;0)

Using the word "English" in the name of the bar when it is so far removed from being English - i.e. no English beer, no live Premier League football and no barmaids to talk to. No Abu Dhabi sports on the tv in the rooms showing the premier league live. Mini-bar empty although a price list present in the room. One of the hotel staff entering my room whilst I was in the shower- he said he knocked but not loud enough and why come in before my leaving time??

Their reception staff " Carla " at time of booking without consulting us reverted us to another room to Al Hamra Palace with an excuse that " there was AC trouble " the room at palace was not having telephone line room 8115 and trash bin and pilliows and we got very angry and after that they gave me my room in the first hotel I already booked as per booking.com.

Access to beach only.

1. No welcoming by staff. 2. Access to village vey poor. 3. Reception not suitable since no parking at entrance of reception. 4. Mini bar was empty. 5. Remote control not working. 6. No tissue at room. 7. Room design is vey poor, furniture is bad. 8. No varieties at breakfast at the Palace Restaurant. 9. Not good service inside the restaurant. 10. Very old towels inside the room toilet. 11. No shower place. 12. Room main door is very heavy and not working probably. 13. No place for children to play. 14. Villa stair is very dangerous.

It is closer to our needs

There was no space to keep suitcases. No chair was provided inside the room, however two chairs were provided in the balcony. But the balcony couldn't be used all the time due to the weather (heat).
