Different hotel style. Nice room setup. Typical old Arabian hone style.
No parking. Not easy to locate. No telephone number on Booking.com No room services
As per the ratings on booking.com I made the booking in this hotel. The AC was not working in the room and there was no proper service. Didn't sleep the whole night co of this. It was truly a very pathetic experience.
Nice location in old Dubai. Very friendly staff. Fast working Wi-Fi (Top!) Delicious Breakfast
Room was big, clean and had lots of character Bed was comfortable Breakfast was good Butler service was good Local transport excellent
Couldn't get colour TV - but we didn't actually ask to get it fixed
It was my second stay and it will not be my last... The location is fantastic for my demands The breakfast is included and it is ok...
still problems with the internet and some other minor things like the installations, conditions in bathrooms, the water etc... (buit for this you sign in to a Heritage house... :) )
The girl at the desk was really helpful and efficient. She seemed to do all the work including cooking breakfast, cleaning the rooms and carrying the luggage! The room was spacious and good value for money - it was an heritage guest house so quite nice to have a change from a glitzy glass house.
The bathroom was very small and not in great condition. There was no cold water! The very steep stairs to the first floor - not good for older people with mobility problems. The wifi did not work properly
BEST STAFFS EVER!! THEIR HOSPITALITY is just amazing from Airport pick-up at around 6AM to the late night when I headed to the airport back. Breakfast is massive. it is not a buffet, you can choose in the menu the day before. (HUMMUS! yam!!) Inside hotel is very quiet, I felt safe and relax. Metro is really close, so I went back to the airport by it (ca. 30min). When I chose a hotel in Dubai, I was also thinking about Resort-like hotel, but if you want more uniqueness of Dubai. Definitely recommend here! :D
Wifi was unstable in the room.
free pick-up service from the airport at 1:00 am was great!!! personal was very friendly!!!
The airport pick up was efficient - though all other drivers were waiting inside - mine had me walking in 110 degree weather outside to find him.
My room was upstairs - the airconditioning was not turned on and after 10 hours it brought the room to maybe 80-90 degrees - they would not move me as the other rooms had a mold smell problem. They charged me in full for 2 nights with no discount even though I ended up having to go to the Hyatt Regency (about a 30 minute walk as they could not get me a cab). Also when I requested 12 hours in advance for a cab to the airport and reminded them 2 hours before / they still did not have a cab for me and I was left on the streets at 12:30am at a taxi stand for my 3am flight. Lastly this is a deserted side of town - and at midnight to 12:30am outside the hotel has homeless looking men smoking and hanging in the alleys right outside the guest house - as well as at the very empty streets by the taxi stand. Stay at the Hyatt - the staff/AC/ were wonderful and the area was very safe.
Location is interesting, close to the subway and the spice and gold souk. On the other hand, at night the area is pretty dead. Next time I think I'd rather stay in Deira side. The staff was very friendly, really going the extra mile to try to make us feel comfortable. Very quiet at most times, except during the call for prayers (there's a mosque nearby, but I guess that's true for most of dubai).
Not much to do at the hotel itself. The rooms are good sized but pretty spartan. I was really annoyed by the temperature of the water - we visited during summer, and the water temperature, even with the heater turned off, was like 40oC or over. Don't know if there was something the hotel could do about this, but still, it was something that we didn't like at all. The breakfast was pretty lame as well, a very small portion of fruits, some breads, eggs, jam.. Seemed pretty soulless. Only had it one time, and the other days had more fun eating in the Indian joints nearby - and far cheaper too.
Rooms and Interior Decoration are wonderful
is one of best hotel . next time will be there
Great 'old' arabic style hotel. You can decide what you want and at what time for breakfast the day in advance, the next morning you can sit down and it will be brought to you. Bed looks great and sleaps good as well!
Second day my shampoo was stuck to the bathtub...with bubblegum (not mine)
It is a lovely apartment in the old part of town (close to the Spice Souk and the creek). A old building that has been converted with more modern facilities but kept the old charm. Located beside the old school house museum. Great friendly and helpful staff. Pick up from airport at midnight and homely breakfast.
The room was located in a separate building from the reception and taxis have to stop a little distance away BUT the staff managed the movement of the luggage and any other arrangements.
Quietly tucked in behind the museum, this is a gem of a hotel - full of character. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and made me feel like a special guest rather than just another customer.
The Ladies Taxi driver at the airport didn't know where the hotel was and had to ask someone in the street in Al Ras to find it. It would be good to have a Hotel sign at the roadside next to the Museum sign.
We liked the fact that it was traditional and charming. The staff were very friendly and they even served us a lovely breakfast at 5am because we had an early flight
The shower was a bit cold
The staff were so helpful and friendly. The boy at reception even went to the trouble to make the breakfast buffy ready for 5am for me as I was leaving 5.45. I didnt expect this. I wil definitely stay here again on my next trip to Dubai. Convenient to the metro also. The fact it was a heritage building and not the usual run of the mill hotel made it special for me.
Nothing I didnt like.
Charming decor and atmosphere. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Toilet seat faulty. Water pressure light, although this was not a huge problem.
Authentic Arab style guesthouse Great location near metro, Dubai River walk, museums and shopping Terrific value for the money Professional friendly staff Complimentary transfer from airport Excellent breakfast included A destination location worthy of repeat visits
WE WERE 2 FRIENDS WE HAVE NOTICED BED BUGS EGGS IN THE ROOM (3).NEAR THE BED EDGE
I like the service provided by the Indian bell boy and the Ethiopian lady who did the job of 3 people. She prepared the breakfast, attended the reception, served the food. Why can't they hire more staff?
the cover of the a/c fell off the wall and broke glasses and turned the chair upside down. We found this accident when we returned to the room in the evening. The receptionist cleaned the broken glass but never brought us back some glasses. He also called me asking me for my voucher assuming I had 3 guests in the room.
I like the old themed furniture decoration. I am old fashioned so they appeal to me.
They should put up more signage for people to know the location of the guest house. Its really hidden inside which is a disadvantage to the guest house. The taxis don't know where its located neither do people near by too.
Great to be able to walk to everything, Dubai creek, metro very close. Staff very friendly, nice breakfast.
Air conditioning could have been a lttle quieter.
fantastic location amazing staff beautiful spacy rooms
An oass of cal, in the city. Brilliant location, near to Al Ras metro station. Lovely, large room. Spotlessly clean. Reynaldo, Alena and all the staff were friendly, welcoming & professional and couldn't do enough for us. Would definately stay here again.
