Only the view This is my first time to be in Rotana Resort and Spa,,, and I was expecting the good treatment because I believe that the first impression is lasting, but I was wrong, why??? First of all, I booked for one night and upon arrival they asked about my debit card for the payment and they took more than the amount of the room I booked, as per the receptionist who did the check in, just in case we need to extend our stay for one more night. Then next day, around 12pm we coudn't open our room because they deactivated the room key from their system which is not acceptable from our side (they had to inform us first), I had to ask the room attendant to open it for me so that I can call the reception, then when I asked the reception that I want to extend for one more night, the answer I got from them is "we cannot extend you because we are fully booked and you have to leave the hotel in one hour. We tried to talk to the F.O. Manager( Mr. Moussa) but he promised us to do his best to find us a replacement room within an hour , butttt he called us when we already checked out and pretending that he is sad for not providing us with any room .Anyways, this is the way they treat the first timer in rotana resort & spa... I really felt so bad, down, disappointed and depressed, one thing, they should know how to consider the in-house guest more than the arriving guest, because this is how we are doing in our 4 star hotel in sharjah city ... hospitality to get the quality.. But so sad they don't have it....

It was a great location with its own PADI Dive centre so we could go diving. Rooms are a bit basic but very clean and have everything you need. We were three adults and booked a room which was large enough to take an extra bed. It was also next to the diving centre which was a great advantage for us. Considering it was Ramadan, I found the evening buffet very disappointing. I asked several members of staff whether the hotel did an "Iftar Buffet" which to me implies all of the traditional Arabic dishes both mezze and main courses. I was assured "yes" there was an Iftar Buffet, but in fact only the starters were Arabic. There were no Arabic main courses (e.g. lamb on rice) because the hotel tried to keep to its existing theme nights and it was "Mexican" night.

Weather - had nothing to do with the hotel. The staff was very good. more flowers in the pool area which makes it more pleasant. Lots of dust behind beds - when we moved them to join them it was clear that these areas are never cleaned. The second morning breakfast was a dissaster - only one cheese was available, they ran out of juice, bioled eggs, did not have the same variety of pastry as they did on the first morning, long ques because people could not get what they wanted; at some point they did not have cotton napkins any more so they offered paper tissues instead - for a 5* resort that is appaling. The internet did not work in the room (wired) so had to use the loby. the founatin in front oof the cascade pools is way too loud.

Position on the fujairah beach is excellent. The responsiveness of the staff was extremely poor, it took us 6 trips to the service desk and 4 hours to get the baby cot. The Bathroom was mouldy.

The hotel is clean and spacious and the location is excellent - set against a backdrop of dramatic mountains yet facing the sea. The room service breakfast was excellent value. The spa is lovely and atmospheric, the treatments excellent but very expensive. The restaurants are limited and overpriced and the food at Waves restaurant was bland.

I have stayed many times at this resort as it is a perfect 2 hour get away from Dubai. Staff are excellent, everything is done with the client in mind. The beach area is clean and the sand is soft. The pool area is nice too. Zen massage is definitely a highlight of the hotel. I would recommend to anyone, and plan on returning next month too. The hotel doesn't have wi fi in the rooms.

We love this hotel and have visited for the past 3 years in a row. Waves Restaurant offers exceptional service and top notch steak and seafood with phenominal ambiance especially if you reserve beach cabana seating (though we've found that the service is best when seated inside). The head chef is eager to please and has routinely accomodated special requests, we've also observed him scrutinizing every dish that leaves the kitchen. The recreation staff offers fun activities for children and families throughout the day that require no planning ahead. Stretching and yoga was a delightful way to break up a day of sun sunbathing and poolside marguritas and my husband enjoyed a game of beach volleyball with our son and other travelers from around the world. The kidz Club is a perfect change of pace after a long day of fun and sun. We routinely drop the kids off there around 5:00 pm and head to the zen spa before all heading back to the room to dress for dinner. The rooms located outside of the main building are the most convenient to the pools and beach in my opinion. However, the layout of this hotel is perfect, I love having the ability to move between the gorgeous pools (with swim up bar and restaurant) and the beautiful beach with ease. Although we absolutely love the water sports that are available, snorkeling used to be free and is now pricey. Other watersports include tubing, parasailing, waterskiing and scuba diving. For the price of the hotel, I think that snorkeling should be free for guests as many guests can do it at a time and it has less overhead than other watersports.

The hotel was very comfortable, easy to relax in. Apart from Gift Shop there was no hassling from staff. We were left alone to amuse ourselves, however, at the same time there were activities available had we wished to be involved. Pool activities by older children were somewhat undisciplined and disrupted those relaxing poolside. This could be easily improved by the Hotel Management.

The pool bar in particular is exceptional, the resturants provide fantastic food and the breakfast in bed or on the terrace is phenomenal. We felt like we had a very romantic, fun filled stay and would most certainly return and recommend it to everyone!

The food was amazing. The only thing that was quite painful was the check in process. Checking in took some time as the staff where overwhelmed. They were friendly and were doing the best they could. However, if the hotel made this interaction a priority, the entire experience would be enhanced.

The location of this hotel is perfect for relaxation and rest. The beach is wonderful and the resort is well organized. For the price and the type of hotel, I expected a better service. First, in most of the hotels in uae with similar rank, you find a plate of fruits when you come. Second, we didn't find the iron in the room. Third, the food in the restaurant is not so good giving the price. Fourth, the environment in the pool is not suitable for kids and family (too much alcohol). Fifth, the food in the restaurant outside is really not to eat (The shawrma was too oily and cold:( Finaly, I recommend to not order a Moroccan tea in the bar, it's really the worst I never drunk!

It is my first time to be at a rotana resort, but the staff kidness had made me a loyale customer starting from the concierge, reception, room service, beach service people etc..., however I should say that the touch of the very active man director was very clear, you see him 40 time per day, in the lobby, restaurants, beach, swimming pool etc... with smart smile and ready to solve any problem. I would like thanks everybody there, difficult to remeber all names but at least I will mention Mr Hossam and Mrs. Faten

“never before have I seen such amazing service from a hotel staff before! they were indeed running so that you don't have to wait for them. check-in took less than 5 minutes, and on arrival we were greeted with a refreshing towel and an orange juice. the superior room was big with a balcony facing the ocean, you can watch the sun rise from the balcony in a breath taking view. the swimming pool was really nice and big. so many activities to do if you don't want to leave the hotel. we enjoyed particularly the teens club on b floor. the lunch buffet was expensive but the main course was delicious.” Ghaith, Dubai |
