Excellent location for museum, waterfront and to get the feel of the old style of Dubai. They added 20% tax on top of what we were paying. Actually said that it was Booking.coms fau t for not having the correct information. Felt cheated...

It was an interesting looking facility which, with location was one of the reasons I went there. Virtually no information on activities in the Dubai area and at least one staff spoke no English. No effort was made to clean the room from one day to the next. This was not a big thing and may be the way they do business, but chain hotels in Dubai do clean everyday, Rooms are noisy, especially when the night clerk starts setting up breakfast at 3am in the courtyard.

Very nice, authentic stay at Bur Dubai. Breakfast on patio. Something really different. Hard to find for any taxi driver. Best to go to Al Faheide roundabout. Turn on 19. Al Faheide street and then it is immediately on right hand side.

The Orient Guest House is perhaps only one of two accommodations in Dubai where you get a feel of 'Old Dubai'. Being in Bastakiya the renovated heritage area and being so near the creek, the romance of the 'Old Middle East' can be enjoyed here like no other place in this bustling city. We wanted a romantic break as it was our Silver Wedding Anniversary, and no modern hotel fits the bill for us. The Parking arrangements were not great...I Wanted to park my own car nearer to the accommodation. In addition, the breakfast was cold.

The hotel is located in a very nice position in the old dubai, into an old medina. Very romantic location, but the rooms need a refreshing and the wireless doesn't work very well. The breakfast very good but poor. For this reason my opinion is that the price of the room is exaggerate, mostly because you have to add at the price of the room +20% for taxes. I paid for a night 150€ and to me is too much. The price very exaggerate for the level of the hotel. The wireless during my stay didn't work at all.

The hotel is very atmospheric. Although the busy Meenabazar area is nearby, the hotel and its immediate surroundings (add to that The Basta Art Cafe) are deliciously Arabic and period. The mud brick walls and the old style of the hotel's interior just makes the whole experience perfect as a getaway. I have to add here that the guesthouse partners with the spa in the Arabian Courtyard Hotel across the street, Zaitoon. This spa is an absolute rip-off and a complete scam. Do not go there, and do not avail their services. They are overpriced, and also pretentious. The service- providers are not trained and the products are horrible.

The Orient Guest House was well positioned (close to the old part of the city) and not far from some of the souks (markets). It was nice to stay in more traditional style of accommodation rather than your everyday hotel. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, would return at a cooler time of year if there ever is one!!!!! Not easy to find if the taxi doesn't drop you opposite the Al Mussala Post Office as we arrived at midnight.

The atmosphere in the Guest House was tranquil and it is a hidden gem. We spend our honeymoon there and had sufficient privacy and the staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful around the clock. It would be nice if the room would have a small fridge to keep drinks and food chilled. The rooms have enough space to accommodate it and it would just add additional comfort to a lovely setting.

It was a charming individual place. It was very easy to reach from the airport ( ~ 15 minutes by taxi) . It was quiet, welcoming . Pleasantly air-conditioned on a veryhot day (40 degrees). There were many small snack bars/cafes nearby where we had a simple snack. There was no time for touring but I am told it is near the souk, the museum and other attractions.

The central location to the 'old' part of Dubai was extermely convenient for walking along the creek, exploring the museum, restored arabic houses, etc. The ac was not functioning in the majlis -so there was nowhere, other than our room, to escape the humidity (it was around 48 degrees and very humid), there was no buffet breakfast (we had to pre select the night before because it was 'quiet') and no tea/coffee in the room. At atotal of 660aed it is at the top end of cost for such a lack of facilities.

The staff were very nice and helpful -- provided lots of useful info. e.g. transport, opeing hours of tourists spots, place for currency exchanges, etc. Specially like the tranquillity of the place. I arrived late at mid-night and the staff was kind enough to pick me up form outside. Very close to post office(opposite side of road), the Dubai Museum(a few minutes walk) and water sports station (another 5 minutes walk further). Day walk & night walk in this heritage area gave me diff. experiences of the place. I was given to know I could use the facilities of Arabic courtyard hotel nearby (a few min. walk again) but I just didnt' manage to (I'll definitely try next time). I think the price can be a bit more reasonable and there's room for improvement on the breakfast provided.
