Quiet place to relax.charming with old style furniture
Old tv , issue with channels.
Location, style, atmosphere of traditional arabian house- great
Not so clean bathroom
Helpful staff. A quiet haven with 2 courtyards inside building. Easy walking distance to the creek and the very interesting museum. A huge yummy breakfast and fast wifi. The staff were very friendly and pleasant
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! A lovely guest house with an authentic feel, including wind towers and open courtyards. Well located within the historic part of town. Very comfortable air-conditioned room, staff kind and courteous. Lots to see within easy walking distance - some of the traditional souks, Dubai museum, Dubai Creek and a good variety of restaurants. Highly recommended for those who are looking for an alternative to the conventional tourist experience !
hotel style decoration staff service
air con was too noisy, hard to sleep deeply
Quaint lodging, convenient location, very helpful staff, handy toiletries, good price.
All the TV channels didn't work, especially CNN from which we wanted the news; the staff tried to get it fixed but it didn't happen before we left.
In the historic district. Very good breakfast. We had a late flight in early morning but still were given a warm welcome
Pool was closed for repairs
design of hotel & rooms relatively economic clean
location is difficult to find no much facilities
The old heritagic decoration
No service High cost Not organized Poor quality tv You
- same amenities as Arabian Courtyard guests: free beach shuttle, free beach towel hire, driver service to certain places - more than only one towel - close to museum, old souks, creek - 24h supermarket across the street - good local restaurants close by - metro in walking distance
- staff not always present at reception -only hot water in the shower - sometimes slow refilling toilet paper etc
We loved the room because it has been kept in its genuine old style with a HUGE four poster bed with gossamer drapes, clay floor tiles and old furniture. However, the high windows which used to act as a flu to funnel out hot air and keep in cool air are covered with perspex and an air-conditioner has been installed. We were grateful for this as the average daytime temperature is 43oC and the night only cools to about 36oC. Breakfasts were well presented and delicious, with some elements of Arabic cuisine. The location was great, being close to the water bus terminal. An excellent place to stay.
Interesting and unique property, very near the creek, good transport, Quiet pack Street location, Access to pool and small gym.
Service was occasionally sketchy,
It was nice to find something that felt down-to-earth and a bit "local" amongst the over the top craziness of Dubai. It's close to the creek, the souk, and the Dubai museum.
The courtyard is too hot to use at any time of day at this time of year, and there is no real alternative eating area at the guest house itself. The hotel it's associated with has more facilities, but it's a block away and I didn't realise this in advance.
The doves that make sweet bird calls at dawn in the courtyard and the location of the hotel. The staff is always so helpful.
The wrought iron standard lamps that sit in the middle of the courtyard. They are too heavy and not really appropriate in style to the rest of the decor.
The customer service of the two staff namely Lorena and JC are superb, very accommodating and helpful. They would do extra effort to make sure we are comfortable. Th architecture and interior design of the whole place lived up to its theme of giving a true Arabian experience to all the guests like us. We really enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely come back and recommend it to our friends to try it out themselves.
Lovely room with interesting old Indian furniture. Open courtyard and interesting architecture. Helpful staff. Easy walk in the morning to Dubai creek.
Breakfast was a bit hot due to our stay being late May but I can see that it would be ideal in winter months.
Al Bastakiya (where this guest house is located) is Dubai's oldest quarter and quickly became my favorite. Very easy to move around, with a 10min walk to the metro. It was very nice to be able to use the services from the sister hotel Arabian Courtyard (shuttle to the beach and airport, pool, gym, etc.). When we'll go back to Dubai we will most certainly stay there again!
Very hot in the courtyard early in the morning and late at night, but hey this is Dubai and we were expecting hot weather. The bed was on the hard side for my taste, but we slept comfortably anyway.
Great location for exploring old dubai. Staff very helpful and kind. Rooms appear to genuinely represent historic buildings in old dubai.
Need better signage from the road and accessways as entry not easy to find.
Lovely place in the old town
Too hot to have breakfast in the courtyard.
We had our own private little terrace with a large settee and coffee table. There's a great traditional atmosphere in this Guesthouse. It's charming and peaceful.
The TV's the old-fashioned type and the choice of channels is more than limited.
Location near Creek and other facilities, very friendly staff
Place not suitable in summer, come in winter... etc
The Inn's location within the Bastakia and our room off the inner quiet courtyard (2a) provided an authentic arabian experience. The thoughtfulness of the staff. The complimentary breakfast was very good. And it was a bonus to be able to enjoy the amenities (pool, spa, shuttles) of the larger sister hotel (Arabian Courtyard).
Courtyard ambiance could be improved (pictures are water damaged, ice cream sign seems out of place, table legs are not lined up with chairs). The upstairs terrace could be made more welcoming (covered area with cushions/lounge chairs).
It is a real nice oasis in a city of mega hotels. One storey building. Breakfast in the courtyard served at your table. Free internet. In the historic part of city. Good value
