The location was the only good thing about it Bad staff greeting and communication through the stay, room service was late and cost a fortune if you have big family, spa was below standard , the cleaness of the villas was plain and stains in the flooring, my freind found blood stains on the extra bed that was requested?! Kitchenette stove was turned off by management so we couldnt cook any baby food or heat milk. Internet cost 45aed/ hour ridiculously expensive.... Too expensive for its worth

The design of the resort is unique and wonderful, facilities various and well maintained. The gym, spa, sauna and pool facilities especially were clean and very functional. The staff was polite, efficient, helpful and flexible, they really went for that extra mile. The slippery marble tiles around the swimming pool are a big safety risk, the tiles must be replaced, or at least all made less slippery by scratching the surface as was done in some areas.

The location and the landscape are superb. The resort is spread out over a small hill with a lot of greenery and zero pollution and peaceful environment. The hotel staff are ill-trained, lack courtesy that is required in a 5 star hotel. We received a very very 'cold' reception while checking in. We did not hear the word 'welcome' anywhere from valet service to the reception. The attitude of staff from front desk to restaurants was very discourteous and un-welcoming! Feels as if you are checking into a hostel instead. At the breakfast buffet, the staff didnt bother to inform the guests who were still eating that they are going to remove the buffet so they can have a refill if they want. We just started or breakfast and was surprised to see everything wound-up when we went for the second serving!!

My stay at Cover Rotana with the sea side view, the rooms were large and was comportable for us as family. There were many this which I didn't like as follows: 1)Starting waiting at the wrong queue, while one of the assistant asked me what is my booking and I told her 3 bedroom villa, after 30mintues another lady asked me about my case, so that I told her 3bedroom villa, then she took me to another office to finish checking in(The receptionist or helper are not aware of their services and where should be) 2) The villa was not ready, where I reached at 3:30, where the villa should be ready at 3:00 (cheack in 3:00), they wanted 20 minutes to clean one bedroom and we have to say for 20 minutes so that they clean the other two bedrooms 3) The maintenace didn't check the lights, my bedroom was without lights till we called room services to repair it 4) Internet at the villa was not working and we have tried many times with room services to assist us, but unfortunaliy not been fixed till 2 hours, they have send us technical engineer to open the internet and informed us that we need to pay 80 per day. (which was not mentioned at website, they have mentioned that their is wifi and it's only available at the lobby at receptionist only) 5) The extra bed for kids reached the villa at 11:30PM, the kids were sleeply and waiting their bed, however, I have mentioned it at my request while booking(I have to fight so that they bring extra bed late night) 6) Swimming pool is available, but the heater is not working and water is veryyyyyyyyyyyyy cold can't swim (not been informed) 7) The Cooker is switched off due to an accident at one of the villa's (not been informed) After all these which I went through I don't think or beleive to do it again at The Cove Rotana Resort. I'm really upset with their services as five star hotel :(

Only people that were nice to me was Asma, the woman walking around reception, and Yassin the waiter at Cinnamon, I give those 2 HIGH reccomendations, but the rest, I'm sorry, I'm a paying customer not a damn dog on the side of the street chasing you to get your attention. Well, waited 5 mins at a traffic light IN the hotel, then 5 mins for them to take my car, they dropped my gf's blazer while dropping us to hotel(Realized after), I ask for a honeymoon room, none was there(Was charged and had to call them to tell them), gave us one of the LAST rooms where we had to walk a lot, I ordered toothpaste 1 hour and a half later it came, undercooked food, I asked for a tour of the hotel and the villas and my request got ignored. And Much more. I did not really enjoy my Christmas there at all, honestly a BIG waste of money. I'd give this hotel a much lower rating, and give a hotel like Hatta Fort a better one.

This was our 6th visit, and the best bits are the simple drive from Dubai, the buffets in the Cinnamon restaurant (although a bit pricy), and the general facilities around the place. When the tide is low, there is so much wildlife to see, especially at sunset. You may want to check tides online before you go; it makes such a difference. The buffet lunch is a bit steep at over aed400 for a family of 4, although food and choice is excellent. I would also suggest that the excellent Laguna swimming pool be temperature controlled - it's too hot in the summer and freezing ion the winter!

The service is very bad. when we reached there, no one took our luggage. if you want to go to the villas (or coming back) you need a golf car to take you there which takes few minutes waiting for it. the same goes for receiving your car from the valet. the beach is dirty full of seaweed.

the staff are the resorts best asset, really helpful. In the description it says that hotel has facilities for disabled guest. I am a miltiple sclerosis sufferer, and use an electric scooter, all room entrances have steps. i was unable to be allocated the room type requested as they are only accessible up a high staircaes. Even the twin bedded room we had to have, has steps into the room, so my scooter had to stay out in the hot sun all day. One pool- The Lagoon although close, was totally inaccessible to me-I might have ms but in the water am an excellent swimmer. I manged to access the pool and wasn able with difficulty to exit reh pool. This is the only 5 star hotel inthr UAE i have visited in the summer, where we were not given cold towels when we checked in . Food good staff great, gave us late check out

The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. It was a really nice and relaxing stay, the service was excellent, we had no issues with room service or being picked up by the golf buggys. We also availed of a massage while we were there and it was most enjoyable. I would recommend it for a nice break from city life.
