The staff came out and got us from the taxi as hotel is located in a pedestrian area. we were given breakfast and checked into our room straight away. ( exactly what you dream of after a long flight with a 3 and 4 year old). all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, lovely and cool as are the court yard areas. we had a delux room which had another bed tor the kids to sleep in. The food was so good, enjoyed every meal we ate, especially the breakfast. location wise this place is set in the historical area, a short walk ( very short as its summer and the kids couldn't go far ) to lots of interesting places, museum and creek and markets. we stayed for 2 nights and I wish it was longer.

I could not fault this place on anything.

Location and the boutique hotel touch. I loved the robes.

The hotel reflected the flavour of the country, as opposed to a hotel chain. The staff were extremely helpful and the cafe offered a substantial breakfast - loved the mint lemonade after a days touring.

A lovely, well designed hotel in an old Dubai heritage building in the heritage district near Dubai creek. The location is perfect for those who do not wish to be in the new Dubai. Beautifully appointed rooms with local designs and pictures. Breakfast was very well done and all staff were very professional.

Nice staff, very helpful. Very comfortable bed. Beautiful artwork and curios positioned around the hotel.

Patchy WIFI connection. No obvious computer terminal/larger screen/printer to make own travel arrangments.

The location was great. A nice alternative to the regular hotels.

Difficult communication with staff. I was interested in purchasing some of their artists work I enquired about the price which they were unable to provide. I asked the same question to three different staff members and they all said they would get back and didn't. Make me wonder if they value the artist work or use it as a gimmick.

Dubai is such an affluent city with lots of hotel choices to stay, but if you want to have experience of living in a true Dubai or Arabic house, this hotel will be your first choice. The location is close to the creek, the markets and the Dubai museum. Going to the metro station is just a 5-10 minute walk.

The room, toilets, facilities and breakfast were nice, but the air-con was a bit noisy though. There were no TV in my room but it fitted its style.

    - Location in the historic Bastikiya neighbourhood - Semi-cooled courtyards to sit out and relax under a tree - Authentic early Dubai look and feel - Proximity to the creek, walking areas, water taxi's, traditional souks, and metro stations - Very quiet - no road access

    Bed is hard

Location and access to some of the older souks. Precinct has some character that is quite unique for Dubai. Staff were always helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had they information we needed.

Difficult to find and instructions not as clear as they could be.

A perfect place for a quiet get away. I enjoyed sitting in the courtyard and looking at the art works. Food was great too (and you don't get to say that about many hotels). It was indeed a home away from home, I'd recommend it to anyone who needs inspiration. No Tv but that was a plus for me.

No parking and no direct access to the road.

Loved the individual character of the hotel/gallery. Liked the restricted number of rooms available. The hidden location adds to charm of hotel. We will recommend it to everyone who wants to get away from the large chain hotels.

    Good breakfast in the courtyard.

A bit tricky to find and hotel arranged airport pickup at four times the normal cab fare.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the breakfast area and the wait staff member was very congenial.

We did not like the fact that the reception staff were not helpful in providing tourist information. Furthermore, for the money spent in Dubai and the time of the year, would have been better to have paid the extra money to stay in a resort. Also, there is no telephone in the rooms and therefore we were unable to contact a staff member during the night when our air conditioning did not work properly and as a consequence we spent a very uncomfortable night (during the day the temperature had been 45oC!

    Fab concept

Very very very hard beds. Woke up from afternoon nap to toxic fume: painting the unit next door = bad headache, eyes burning, violent vomiting. It was 1:30p so I said I would just check out & not stay 2nd night but they said = too late; Moved me to another room: isolated much less pleasant room.
