Location, view, staff helpfull , difficult to find that in vlora! Clean
Couldn't commend the Air conditioner
The location is excellent , being virtually outside the town at the end of the promenade just before the tunnel thereby avoiding the mass of new building which has changed the character of Vlore. The view from the public rooms is wide and the view across the bay and to Sazan adds to the value of the place. The rooms were well appointed and the service on the restaurant terrace was very helpful.
There is nothing I wish to add here.
beach view food pool
rooms bad noise isolation from windows (could be just our room) bad sleep
View, beach and location of the hotel was perfect.
Staff of the restaurant was the weakest point of the hotel. It was taking 15 minutes or more to bring the menu, and you were demotivated to ask a bottle of water since you knew it will come after half an hour! Selection of food was limited.
It's really hard to beat the location of Hotel New York. It's right on the beach and most of the rooms have a wonderful beach view and often have little balconies. The hotel has a private beach and the famous cold water beach is just a five minute walk away. Many of the staff speak English (or Italian). The breakfast was included and very good. The hotel also has a wonderful restaurant that has stunning views.
The service as the restaurant is very slow and if your room is at the far end of the hotel the wifi is very spotty.
The view was great from our room it was clean beds were comfortable breakfast was very nice loved the pool the beach we went to was 2 minutes drives called sunset if u want sandy beach and the food there was brill.
I loved the room that was given to us after we complained about the first one.
We booked online and when we got there we were given another room than the one that was showed online. WE complained and got the right one.
Location only and restaurant is good
Value for money is terrible. I was put in a room on the same level as the parking lot and could hear everything all night. Accommodations are "basic" and you pay as if it is a "nice" hotel. Everything is old and dated. I would never stay here.
i liked the placement of the hotel, the many possiblilties of food, good brekfirst, and the rooms
i think the personel did not speek so god english, german or italien, and we had a big misunderstanding. they demanded our passports when we came, but did not give them back when we left. i have not had any hotel keep pur passports, som i did not remember, and they did not remember(which i dont understand if they always keep the passports till checkout) and we god all the way to tirana 3 hours away, till we discovered it and had to go back. i also think the pool was small, and the bar was newer open there
Great view, great staff.
Noisy...but fun :)
Sea wiev is good
Foods portions low and expensive
It was a good location right on the coast and our room had a great sea view.
Wifi was not quite available in the room. small beach. Staff in the restourant was very, very slowly. We must to go in the another restourants for lunch.
The view from the 5th floor.
I booked a family suite for 3 persons. We got a double room with an tiny extra bed, towels for two. When I questioned it I was told they had a problem with the toilet in the suite we should have but tomorrow you can change. We never changed the suite was awful, second floor dark and the bed very old. Staff knowledge of English very poor. I had to take the cleaning lady with me in to the bathroom and show her that we wanted one more set of towels since we were three people and only towels for two were provided. We bought ice-cream and soft drinks at the pool cafe and charged it on the room, when we checked out the lady in the bar had put up two beers which we did not have. They wanted to charge us for two bottles of water from the mini-bar which we did not take, I was told to go and talk to the cleaning lady dispite she did not speak or understand a singel word of English. Breakfast poor. We had lunch/dinner three times at the restaurant, the first time excellent food and the last time awful! The rice in the risotto was not cooked properly. The parking is not enough for all guests with cars, come early to secure a space. A first positive impression turned into a very negative impression at the end at the check out :( If you stay there book a seaview room!
The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is very helpful. If any problems with your room just got to ask. Btw ask to stay on the 4th floor .
The only thing is this is not a 4 star hotel. We dont know how the stars are award it here but we seen plenty of 4 star hotels and this is not even close but is still a good one to stay .
Yola at reception was cheerful and friendly. The large bed was comfortable. The view of the sea from our room was lovely.
Although they were expecting us and we did not arrive until 9PM, our room was not ready. The check out staff was slow, inefficient, and not friendly at all.
good location , good restaurant
Most of all during our stay at hotel New York, Vlore, was the commodity of the rooms, but still the hotel needs to improve the facilities and the small details. The staff was polite and friendly.
Didnt like the small details in the rooms like lack of warm water in any moment you needed it. The pool was small.
It was a good location right on the coast and our room had a great sea view. It was a nice clean room and a very flash TV (hidden in the mirror!).
Wifi was not quite available in the room (we had to go out to the balcony).
Loved everything here. Staff was awesome, both at the front desk and the restaurant. Awesome location with a beautiful beach. Bed was very comfortable, and the balcony was incredible.
Towels were starchy, but with a location like that, it doesn't matter.
Easy to find, using the tunnel as a marker. Parking at rear of hotel. Some good, small restaurants just along the road - we had a nice dinner at the Amantia. Well appointed rooms with sea views. Efficient A/C. Adequate breakfast buffet but you have to pay extra for 'real' coffee (ie not the industrial thermos stuff). English speaking reception staff.
Like other reviewers, had not understood that the hotel was right on a main road, so there was traffic and crashing wave noise if you opened the window. The 'beach' in front of the hotel was just a very small area of sand and rocks and would not allow a proper bucket and spade experience. Location generally is not conducive to beachside relaxation; the weather was so bad we didn't actually inspect the pool. It was a good 5 mins drive to Vlore centre.
The hotel is pretty easy to find, though the directions are over complicated. (Just stay on the road to Sarande and look for the Electronic Ticker Sign - if you go through the tunnel, You just passed it.) The huge bed was really comfortable. They had filter coffee at breakfast. The view from the room was nice. The room was clean.
The pictures lead you to believe that it's right on a usable beach. It isn't really, there's about 2m of beach between the road wall and the water's edge. We had to drive to get to a decent beach. The breakfast was sub-sub-par. The zero-nutritional value white bread was stale, the white cheese tasted like an old sock (and I like stinky cheese) and everything was totally picked over at all times. When we commented on it, the response was "there are a lot of people". First, not really, and second, then go get more food. The restaurant service was slow and not very accommodating. We ended up moving to a different restaurant after we had our salads.
Views were excellent from the sea-facing rooms and the bridge bar. Front desk staff fairly helpful and accommodating. Facilities themselves were amazing, especially in the suite rooms. Responsiveness to problems was timely and the issues were solved quickly.
Possibly due to being early in "the season" (mid-May), the restaurant didn't have many requested items (some seafood items, and rucola for salads, both of which were available at other nearby restaurants) Restaurant staff, with the exception of one bartender at the "bridge" bar was inefficient and inattentive (more so than would be typical for the customer service standard in the region). The "private beach" amounted to about 10 meters wide and 2 meters deep, abutting a brick wall (which in 2 days was never wide enough to even lay on).
