This is truly a unique experience of Armenian hospitality! It's like visiting your friends rather than receiving a service. Friends who missed you and make everything to please you and make you feel at home!
Nature around the property is wonderful and beautiful! It is a dream to those who enjoy a good hike, trekking or just a pleasant walk in the mountains.
Food is all natural, organic and home-like! You will never feel hungry in here.
Special thanks to Varujan, the owner and the host - an extraordinary and open-hearted individual...
The host family was very kind. The son speaks English and if he is not around, you can reach him by phone to translate. His mother met me and showed me the apartment. The top floor apartment is lovely with an amazing view of the city with balconies on both sides. Just a side note, it is in a soviet building so keep that in mind with your expectations but it is a very nice place. There are markets, banks and pharmacies just a stone's throw away. Transport to the rest of Armenia is about a 5 minute walk away.
The atmosphere is great, the place is so high, you feel like you're on the top of the mountains. This was a pretty interesting experience for me, not a usual stay, do not be prepared for a convenient hotel stay. Unfortunately we weren't there on the right season, so bees were passive and quite. Make sure you visit this place in the beginning of summer. We were given a small tour about bees and honey making and saw the inside of the hive.
The hotel is new, clean and well-organized. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious. The restaurant is very good- it's home-made cuisine, we really felt as if we were in somebody's home and not in a hotel. There was no coffee included in the breakfast and they provided one for free upon request, really incredible service. I confirm what was said in other reviews- you won't find anything better in the town :)
The owner, Irina was really kind and nice person. The dinner was very tasty and the atmosphere made us feel we are at the relative’s home in Armenia. We enjoyed good conversation and she even made us a “special tour” of the city on her way to the groceries(We stayed there in the off-season. I think that she was just being kind, so please do not expect it always happen).
Thank Irina and Marine.
We got the apartment beneath the owners' house, in which there is a double bedroom, and a single bed + a convertible couch.
There is a TV and a fridge in the room.
It was super clean and comfortable.
Location is in quiet Amoj village, easily reachable by car, 15min from Alaverdi.
We had a delicious and big breakfast with the owners, they are super nice :)
Firstly, the owner was really nice and friendly - he not only provided us with some travelling tips, but also gave us some local fruit to try :) Secondly, the room is comfortable and the hotel has everything, we even did our laundry for free. Thirdly, it has a parking lot, which is good for people having cars.
This is my second time staying with Alaverdi guesthouse. Coming from China for business this hotel is like a hidden gem within the beautiful mountains. The hosts go beyond their way to make you feel at home and everything from room to food to mood was brilliant! Will be missing this place.
Irina who owns IRIS is the best host we've ever had. She is professional kind helpful generous and goes above and beyond what super hosts do. We visited with our family of 4 kids and we had a great time at iris to the point of crying the day we left. We will definitely come back again!
The wifi was good, the showers were hot and had good water pressure, it was clean. What else can you ask for? You don't travel to this part of Armenia to hang out in the room. I hiked all day and slept well at night, which was all I wanted.
Excellent place to stay! It’s super clean, peaceful place, the host is so friendly and welcoming. Plus the price is fair. It’s like a hotel but way cozier and cleaner .
You gotta stay here, I highly recommend it!
the staff completely go out of their way to serve you. the rooms are pretty large. Breakfast is decent. It’s really unexpected gem in this part of Armenia
