Score from 165 reviews Very good
The staff was very helpful. The atmosphere is also nice and it is very near to the main square.
The bathroom just was not cleaned properly which is a shame cause I liked pretty much everything else about the place.
Good travel agency attached, room upgraded for no extra charge
The worst Wifi I have ever experienced, couldn't even load a webpage. Hostel tries to compensate itself for quoting room in USD and charging in ARS (and resultant FX problems in Argentina) by using higher, bogus ARS/USD exchange rate than official bank rate, completely unacceptable.
Even though we checked out in the allotted time, there was no one able to return our key deposit (100peso) after a number of emails the hostel is 'not able' to return our money via bank transfer or a refund of some sort, I think this is disgusting! In addition to this after our 2 night stay we left to get our bus to chile, this was cancelled so we returned to the hostel to stay another night. It was 10.30pm, we were tired and disappointed and the manager/owner tried to charge us triple what we had paid the night before! She was extremely rude to us when we questioned it and when I looked on booking.com and saw I could book online at the original rate we paid she accused us of playing games and moaned about the price, if she doesn't like the rate why advertise at that?! We were shocked and upset by her behaviour but too tired to look elsewhere. The rooms and OK but quite cold, the breakfast was a joke, a piece of stale bread, powdered milk and they say eggs but we stayed 4 nights and didn't see eggs once! We have travelled to many countries and I have never experienced customer service so terrible, avoid!
the hostel is located really close to the plaza de independencia and the stasff was nice to help us.
the breakfast was not too much, there was cold in the communal areas, they told us that there would be someone all night and day long but then in the morning (at 7.30) there was nobody.
The staff were friendly
Were to start. The hostel operates a bar as well. The bar with it's blaring music was located 25 ft. From our thin window. The music blared till 5 am on a Thursday. Also the top mattress was very soiled and worn out. The sheets were too small and pulled off the mattress immediately.
staff were friendly especially owner comfortable beds
broken pool table pool was closed
Bad staff, restrictive rules like for kids, beer and vine just from their fridge, cucarachas in the bedroom, bad expirence for us
This hostel is so in need of renovation. Mold is everythere.
Good location, good wifi.
Friday night party with external people. Locked kitchen from 11 to 7.30. Weird alcohol policy for a wine city. ( do not come inside the hostel with your own alcohol.) You can not close the door of the toilet.
there is a mix feeling on this hostel, we had for the first two nights a TWIN room, and for the second two nights for just 30 pesos more, a DOUBLE room. what did we like in the twin room: NOTHING what did we like in the double room: it was a good size room with a sort of "aircon" and a working and clean bathroom next to it; the breakfast was basic but ok, and the leaving room was big and very nice
the bathrooms are very old and they don't work very well, you never know if when you go you'll find a surprise from the previous user, or if it will flush, or if there will be hot water. It is a bit of a gamble. The swimming pool is very small and nobody uses it. The TWIN room is absurdly small, there is no space to breath, there are 2 beds, one in top of the other and the space for just one person to stand in front of them. It is crazy that it is just 30 pesos cheeper. so if it is available just the TWIN, DON'T GO!!! Moreover, The tours organized by them are ok but not amazing, there is one wine discovery by bike that is very expensive and not worthy, you are too tired and hot to appreciate wine and of the 5 places where they are bringing you, just 2 are about degustation of wine and are good... the others are tiring and horrible, so before booking anything here, go around and see what else is out there... if you like horse riding absolutely do "la quebrada del condor" is not with them but you can purchase it there, is much better than their: "goucho day" ;)
The staff were very welcoming. They also had a BBQ which was a humongous size and definitely worth value for money.
The 4 bed dorm is actually a through passage to all the other dorm rooms so during the night there were constantly people coming and going through the room. No AC in the dorm rooms either. Bathrooms were particularly lacking for the dorm rooms.
This is a great budget hostel, located in a great part of the city. The staff are superb--always smiling, friendly, and eager to help. There is a fantastic travel agency adjacent to the hostel, which can arrange tours in and around Mendoza. All in all, highly recommended!
The hostel is cheap; so some of the amenities are quite basic--esp. compared to some of the hostels in which I had stayed in Patagonia. However, for the price you are paying, everything is great!
Friendly polite and very helpful staff, in a great location, in a great vibrant city
The beds/mattresses need to be addressed.
A really super hostel. The staff speak very good English and are very helpful. The double room was spacious and right next to the bathroom. I like that they provided towels too. There is a very small swimming pool to dip in and cool off. Overall a very nice stay and one I would definitely recommend.
You couldn't take your own alcohol into the hostel and the WiFi was very slow - nothing major.
staff location planned trips for guests
awkward placement of the bathroom and joined rooms
The hostel is really well located and the staff are very helpful.
When we were at the hostel it was a local holiday so it was really busy and there were very noisy parties every night until 2-3 o'clock in the morning and you are also not allowed to bring your wine or any alcohol which for a town such as Mendoza seems very unfair as you visit the bodegas and local wine shops.
Excellent service, staff were great and genuine. Particular mention to Cecilia at the reception who is as helpful as a good friend would be and greets guests with a great smile. Also Luc (the owner) who goes out of his way to help guests with whatever issues they may have. Great location and good quality tours.
The building is a bit old and some things need attention, but not a big deal.
The staff was very kind and helpful all the time. The location is good, you are a few blocks away from almost everything in the town.
The only point I think can be improved is that our door couldn´t be locked so that anyone could access the room. There were no problems but I think it can be reviewed.
Great staff, showers, kitchen, bar, and tour desk. Very clean. Really helpful and offers us a free upgrade of room. Would highly recommend to any travellers.
