After driving along the Quebrada de las Conchas from Salta for several hours, it was very nice to arrive at Hotel Altalaluna. Since it is located 20 Km south of Cafayete in the town of Tolombon a car is needed to drive around the area. We decided to stay 2 nights between the vineyards then move one night to the center of Cafayate. We requested to move to a standard room, second floor #119, with unobstructed view of the vineyards and mountains. Smaller room but adequate. The suite we booked, #111, had a big tree blocking the view. Wifi worked fine in our room. Breakfast was the typical Argentinean buffet, but you could order eggs cooked any style. For dinner, Rodrigo our server described the menu, locro and cabrito baked inside grape leaves served with a reduction of torrontes was very tasty. Their wines Tukma are very good. The place is peaceful and relaxed. We enjoyed the sounds of nature, birds signing; there was no loud music anywhere. Staff was helpful in making reservations to the different restaurants, try Bodega Piatteli
This resort could be perfect, Loved the location, the views, the grounds, pool and the surroundings. The hotel is very clean. Having a balcony is wonderful.
This place could be a top notch wine resort with just a little improved hotel management. We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a very nice peaceful getaway. However, customer service is just a bit lacking, however with just a little common sense it could be improved greatly. The first 2 days we were there was overcast and windy (not pool weather at all) the 3rd day was sunny and warm, but when we got to the pool we found that they had drained it and were cleaning it, too bad they picked the nicest day of the week to do this. For some odd reason they run the water sprinklers during the day so you have to dodge them when walking the grounds (seems to me it would be more convenient for guests and more eco friendly to run them at night). But our biggest grip would be that we were there midweek and it was very slow, at most there were 4 other couples staying here, they must have had at least 20 empty rooms yet for some reason they kept putting people into the rooms on either side of ours. We were woken early by coughing fits from one neighbor one morning and slamming bathroom doors by the other the following. I get it if they were full...but the place was empty! They could have easily given us all a room or two buffer if they were on top of their costumer service game. Oh and the spa always seemed to be locked. But honestly these are small things that are easily fixed. The resort is very nice and we would go back. But it has so much more potential.
Very helpful people
Spacious, resort feel, breakfast with nice coffee, fruit. guest amenities .Helpful staff. views of vineyard
Would be difficult to get to unless own transport. Bathrooms are a little basic.
Great atmosphere, peaceful; good restaurant and wines. Spa and pool. Great place to rest and visit the Cafayate region. We were planing for just 1 night and ended staying 2 more!
WyFy not always available (as most other places in the region) and never in bedroom.
Wifi didn't reach bedrooms. Resturant harshly lit - no ambience whatsoever. Service by the pool non-existent Bird noise a serious nuisance from dawn to dusk Rooms are pretty basic
The location is fantastic, facing the mountains, surrounded by vineyards. The park and swimming pool are breathtaking with these views. Lovely Spa. The setting is very relaxing and the architecture matches the landscape. The breakfast is really great with home made patisserie. Top quality in a remote area.
Near to perfection, quiet fantastic location, friendly staff, big garden with pool, good restaurant
We could only stay 1day.
Excellent facilities, very welcoming staff...
Although the service was great, the restaurant was not at par with all the rest...
I didn't like that we didn't have a reservation, eventhough we made it through your site. The hotel was full and they have to put two different guest in one room to have one available for us. Never using booking again!
