Staff was nice and helpful, breakfast room had a beautiful view, good location in Ushuaia.
Hot water shower had no pressure at all, had to run a bath and then sit under a trickle of hot water to get clean. The cold water shower, if you are into those, was fine. But in cold, rainy Ushuaia, cold water showers are not really the best.
Room, bed were great. Dining room view was stunning.
The front desk staff never smiled. My questions and requests were treated as a nuisance... Like asking for a printout of boarding passes from their guests' computer. Very cold.
Panoramic view at the highest floor where breakfast is served
Given the price I wouldn't expect the junior suite being in the basement.
clean, Clean, CLEAN !!! Jr. Suite was very large, w/fridge & big bathroom (including bidet) Fantastic Staff -- VERY friendly, helpful and understood English and my very broken spanish :-) Free Breakfast - wide selections & kept hot ... the Luggage Room was locked for security and no issues keeping it for us for our 4 pm ship embarkation ...
the signage was difficult to see from the street -- very small sign on the building (was concerned the Taxi took me to the wrong place for a minute ! ;-) The room I had (a "Jr. Suite")was kindof a basement type room; very large & very nice , it had a great patio, but wasn't high enough to enjoy the harbor view... not a big problem, since the dining room was 360* glass with fantastic view (it's on the 4th floor)
Amazing view of Ushuaia while you're having a decent breakfast. You can easily spend a whole day in the restaurant just watching the boats and mountains.
staff gave us confusing messages about what rooms are available - we had to ask several times to get the rooms we wanted. In the end, it all worked out.
Very nice view from breakfast room at the top, rooms nicely furnished.
Ushuaia is not a beautiful city, uncoordinated ugly new constructions all ove the slope of the city and Alto Andino hotel is one of these ugly buildings. Staff unusually unfriendly, unlike what we experienced in Argentina elsewhere. Got room no. 4 which i had read in review as unfavourable. My question for other room was not even answered....
The rooms were very modern and clean and the views were amazing - especially from the breakfast room, which transformed into a bistro afternoon and evening. Just a short walk to our favorite two restaurants - Lola and Bodega Fuegian.
Wifi stopped working and no one knew how to reset it. But there were computers in the lobby that worked. For the great views, one has to climb up and down dozens of stairs to town. However, it was great training for our treks in Torres del Paine!
Spacious room, comfortable bed, nice top floor area.
Bathroom had a leak somewhere that made the floor constantly wet. I paid extra to get a deluxe room with jacuzzi but it turns out the jacuzzi rooms are in the basement with no view. Probably because of location of room tucked un the basement, wifi, which was what we really needed after several days in a cruise, was not working.
The room was huge and very comfortable, the view from the breakfast room was amazing, well located, wifi worked well even from room
Breakfast could be better (although much better than other hotels in Argentina)
Comfortable hotel and nice view with breakfast.
Wifi didn't work in our room and the jets for the tub were dirty.
Beautiful view from the breakfast room.Very clean, nice decor throughout. Excellent breakfast buffet except for the runny scrambled eggs. Very comfortable beds and excellent shower/bath.
asked for a veranda room and expected a view, placed on -1 floor with no view and could not change room as hotel fully booked- so if booking this property ask for the 3rd or 4th floor with a view..Staff had some trouble communicating in English. Friendliness and helpfulness of front desk varied from fair to good.
Beautiful view from the breakfast room good information from the desk Good location
Overall hotel was clean and tidy, staff very helpful when we required assistance.
Wifi was not reliable but I guess it's because of the surrounding mountains so not a lot you could do about that?
Great location, good clean, comfortable accommodation
Not much to dislike. No dining room for evening dinner though plenty of excellent restaurants nearby.
Excellent hotel in good location. Rooms were clean, up to date, and the view from the dining room was superb. The breakfast was good as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall great stay.
The windows were dirty and looked into an unkempt yard, somewhat diminishing the stunning view. The wifi was intermittent and did not reach every room, I did not get wifi reception in my room.
The rooms were in perfect conditions and very comfy. Staff personnel very polite. Highly recommend it!
The location is not the best one but overall is good.
I was the first to stay in the new extension Room 12. Brand new bed and linen, heavenly quiet and very nicely decorated.
Wi Fi erratic, but probably not the hotels fault, pretty common outside capital cities in South America. The window in the room looked onto next door and the curtains couldn't be opened, making the room dark during the day, but out for most of the day, so not a major problem.
I would definitely stay again at Alto Andino Hotel in Ushuaia! Excellent value and quality
All was great. Staff is very helpful. Special mention to Andres, Roxana, Maria who put an extra effort to make our trip perfect.
The hotel is just 2 blocks from the main street St Martin but it is a steep walk. Not an issue for me/my family but may be difficult for people with mobility problems.
we thought the hotel was nicely furnished and tastefully decorated.the staff we very helpfull
the breakfast was very poor quality, shop bought sliced bread, stale dry cakes and croissants, orange juice that had to be stirred with a spoon uck.very poor value considering the nightly room rate
Just another characterless hotel. Paid extra to get a view of the Beagle Channel but it turned out to be a view of the building in front with a little bit of the Beagle Channel. Wouldn't stay there again.
The view from the breakfast room; the great toiletries; very clean;
Very slow checkout, when many people were leaving for morning flight; room was not ready when I arrived from the ship; the hotel was overheated;
Very comfortable, nice balcony and eating areas.
Nice roof top restaurant for breakfast and an evening drink.
I booked a "One Bedroom Apartment" with a King Bed and when I arrived I was told by staff that they did not have such a room and that the description on the internet was wrong. So I got the best room they had which was a regular hotel room with twin single beds. They still charged me for the "One Bedroom Apartment" and claimed that they could not refund me any money because it was not their fault for the misleading room description.
Nice view from our room on the third floor, but I wouldn't want to stay on any floor lower than that - without the view the room would not seem anywhere near worth the price for the amount of money it costs.
1) The front desk staff quoted us one number for what we owed, based on one exchange rate for Pesos to Dollars, but then changed their story, and insisted that we pay more money even though we had already been quoted one number. Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service. 2) Incredibly smelly perfume/cleaning products used in the room - we spent hours airing it out.
