The staff was very competent, friendly, and extremely helpful; be it the people at the reception, especially Cynthia, Nicholas, and Leon. I am sorry that I don't know the other first names. The cleaning and breakfst personnell was also very nice and clean. The patio or the garden of the hotel is an intercultural meeting place which invites people from many different cultures, age groups and vocations to sit together and to have fun together, and to learn from each other. The tours offered are great; especially Marina who did the La Boca tour with us was excellent. A great THANK You to all of you. We have enjoyed Buenos Aires once more. Hilda and Johanna Fanta
Friendly, helpful staff, great location, good layout.
Smokers, more hooks in the shower
Good location, very nice staff.
Don't expect to perfect Wifi connection!
The activities offered were great to get to know other travelers. Staff was very helpful in making sure we got the most out of our quick four days in buenos aires. We had an awesome stay!
-Comfortable and clean rooms, good location, decent breakfast
-Had more of a hotel feel than a hostel feel to it - there was not a lot of atmosphere and not a very good common space
Air conditioning, cleanliness and friendly staff.
Wifi was a little slow but other than that no complaints
Staff were excellent/very helpful. Short walk to everything in San Telmo.
Mrs wanted a hairdryer for our private room and i wanted a softer bed. Nothing really bad at all aside from wifi occasionally not working sometimes. Great place overall :)
The Hostel was comfortable, clean and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They answered all of my questions and told me about the best ways to enjoy my time in Argentina. I loved the environment at the hostel. I met wonderful people from around the world and enjoyed my stay in Argentina.
Location is great if you want to stay in San Telmo or near Microcentro.
Breakfast was nothing special. Just white bread, dulce de leche and sugar-coated corn flakes.
Good breakfast, friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean, nice outside area - would go there again- even had hair dryers!
A little pricey, the washbasin is in the bedroom so got disturbed by people using it in the middle of the night
Very popular with young travelers, common areas and great daily activities to meet new people, located in San Telmo not far away from Microcentro sights. Bit far away from hip Palermo and Recoleta.
Price is a bit on the upper end for seasoned backpackers, but if you carry US dollars you can exchange them at a better rate in Florida street and extender their value.
friendly staff, free tours (tips based), good breakfast, great rooms with aircon, wifi a hairdryer! which were cleaned daily
Outstanding staff, different activities to choose from each day, excellent rooms and beds (we stayed in a private double), easy to meet and get to know other travellers. Have stayed here twice and would stay here again without hesitation.
Free tours and daily activities were excellent!!
Wifi only really works in the lobby and staff took a few times to carry out requests. I left something in the room when we checked out and the staff claimed they never found it :(
We had a lovely, comfortable private room with ensuite. Everything is clean, bright and modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. This was our second time staying here and we would stay again. Highly recommended.
Wifi is a bit hit and miss in the rooms. Kitchen is a bit small for the number of people there.
Staff- all of them- very friendly, helpful and fun. I´ve stayed here twice before and i have tried other hostels. It just highlights how good ADS is especially when it comes to cleanliness- good systems in place. Wide variety of people stay here including young families, which is great.
WiFi quality seems not to be as good as when i was here in Sept and Oct.
The free breakfast Friendly staff Great location
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Unlike the couple of Hosteling International I've stayed, America Del Sur in Buenos Aires has a much modern looking and feeling: the bed sheets do not look cheap and filmy like those in the Hosteling International, and they change sheets for you, and even make bed for you every day, while other Hosteling International just give you the sheets for you to put on. Yet in the meantime, they charge lower price for all this.
Noisy sometimes, which is a common problem with hostels like this. But this was a lesser problem than some hostels I stayed. The internet works fairly well in the lobby, but very poor in the room.
Nice location in San Telmo, the alternative quarter. Met many nice people and slept very well.
Great location, walking distance to a lot of BA highlights and good resturants, and the metro. Very helpful friendly staff. Our double room was more like a hotel!
Good hostel located in San Telmo on walking distance from the city centre. Nice, sociable hostel with nice patio, comunal area + kitchen and movie room which makes it easy to meet people. Staff is friendly and incredibly helpful (helped me out big time when one of my tours was cancelled due to the bad weather). Breakfast is good too.
It's not a dislike, but more a tip: America del Sur works with certain companies for arranging tours and bus journeys. Since these companies might not offer the best / cheapest options in town, it's worth it to shop around a little bit.
modern hostel with fantastic facilities, great room and bathroom. Location was excellent, staff are friendly and helpful and great night's sleep.
wifi was a bit weak on occasion and we had to pay in full on the day of booking which was unexpected.
Nothing good to say
Very disappointing experience, worst in South America
Stayed in a double room. Well kept, even had a hairdryer! Friendly staff, reasonable breakfast, lots of activities offered! Especially loved the walking tours!
No proper bar, and tables aren't laid out for socializing so could be difficult for lone travellers to mix. Wifi was hit and miss
Breakfast, bed, currency exchange,
Noise at night, not enough utilities in kitchen.smal showers.
