Outstanding staff, different activities to choose from each day, excellent rooms and beds (we stayed in a private double), easy to meet and get to know other travellers. Have stayed here twice and would stay here again without hesitation.
Free tours and daily activities were excellent!!
Wifi only really works in the lobby and staff took a few times to carry out requests. I left something in the room when we checked out and the staff claimed they never found it :(
We had a lovely, comfortable private room with ensuite. Everything is clean, bright and modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. This was our second time staying here and we would stay again. Highly recommended.
Wifi is a bit hit and miss in the rooms. Kitchen is a bit small for the number of people there.
Staff- all of them- very friendly, helpful and fun. I´ve stayed here twice before and i have tried other hostels. It just highlights how good ADS is especially when it comes to cleanliness- good systems in place. Wide variety of people stay here including young families, which is great.
WiFi quality seems not to be as good as when i was here in Sept and Oct.
The free breakfast Friendly staff Great location
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Unlike the couple of Hosteling International I've stayed, America Del Sur in Buenos Aires has a much modern looking and feeling: the bed sheets do not look cheap and filmy like those in the Hosteling International, and they change sheets for you, and even make bed for you every day, while other Hosteling International just give you the sheets for you to put on. Yet in the meantime, they charge lower price for all this.
Noisy sometimes, which is a common problem with hostels like this. But this was a lesser problem than some hostels I stayed. The internet works fairly well in the lobby, but very poor in the room.
Nice location in San Telmo, the alternative quarter. Met many nice people and slept very well.
Great location, walking distance to a lot of BA highlights and good resturants, and the metro. Very helpful friendly staff. Our double room was more like a hotel!
Good hostel located in San Telmo on walking distance from the city centre. Nice, sociable hostel with nice patio, comunal area + kitchen and movie room which makes it easy to meet people. Staff is friendly and incredibly helpful (helped me out big time when one of my tours was cancelled due to the bad weather). Breakfast is good too.
It's not a dislike, but more a tip: America del Sur works with certain companies for arranging tours and bus journeys. Since these companies might not offer the best / cheapest options in town, it's worth it to shop around a little bit.
modern hostel with fantastic facilities, great room and bathroom. Location was excellent, staff are friendly and helpful and great night's sleep.
wifi was a bit weak on occasion and we had to pay in full on the day of booking which was unexpected.
Nothing good to say
Very disappointing experience, worst in South America
Stayed in a double room. Well kept, even had a hairdryer! Friendly staff, reasonable breakfast, lots of activities offered! Especially loved the walking tours!
No proper bar, and tables aren't laid out for socializing so could be difficult for lone travellers to mix. Wifi was hit and miss
Breakfast, bed, currency exchange,
Noise at night, not enough utilities in kitchen.smal showers.
Friendly welcoming and informative staff. Hostel has pretty bedspreads, big windows and nice common relaxing place.
No internet in bedroom. No eggs or cheese for breakfast. It would be nice to have a pull out clothes line.
The hostel was in a great location close to all of the touristy spots and also close to the subway line. The staff was great and the atmosphere was wonderful! Great place to get to know other travellers. Close to a grocery store so you didn't have to eat out every night. The walking tours are a nice addition especially when you are traveling on your own! The wifi connection was great but would sometimes not work in the rooms. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you to everyone!
The hostel was really nice, almost like a hotel. The staff were really helpful. They organise tours which were quite good
There wasn't much of a social atmosphere at all. Not the place to go if you want to meet other travelers. It has a bit of a clinical feel to it. For the price of a private room you could get a better room in a hotel.
The staff is amazing, always there for help and give god advices. The people there is awesome! Great experience!
The internet could be better.
The patience and helpfulness of the staff is out of this world. Always available for advice and help but without being remotely overbearing. Very highly recommended. Dorms are comfortable, not overcrowded and very clean.
Location/breakfast/service/tours/ everything was great
Great value for money staying in the dorms, and the hotel was incredible safe and secure in a wonderful location. Fantastic is you're travelling with a group of friends!
The bunks were pretty difficult to climb, the sink design meant that water splashed all over the floor and the shower drainage was quite poor. Also, the communal area was not particularly social due to the limited and uncomfortable seating.
Very well divided space in the room, we were three people sharing a room so having the toilet, the shower and the sink in three different rooms was very convenient. It was very cold in Buenos Aires, but the facilities in the room were in according to this situation. The people in the reception is very friendly, the neighborhood (San Telmo) is excellent! Many great restaurants and markets nearby and very close to the main streets and locations! It was an excellent place to stay and I would stay there again!
It took a long time to connect to Wi-Fi at the first time, but eventually it all worked out. We had some problems with our sink, it was not well installed and it poured water to the floor. We also had trouble with energy, we were without light during an hour or so, but the team was very quick to solve the issue.
Excellent hostel. Very clean and comfortable. Staf really friendly and helpful. Good location. I really like this hostel.
Wifi wasn't work in the rooms. And there is no locks in the bathroom and shower. ;) When its mix room is not comfortable.
This hostel gets a lot of cudos for its customer service, but i didn't see too much of that, for instance many of the advertised activities were cancelled (eg tango lessons, walking tours) From talking to other travellers, tours seem to be overpriced also
helpful and friendly staff, in the middle of San Telmo, lot of bars and restaurants
cause of the atrium a bit loud in the rooms
Very nice stay! friiiieeeendly staff and a good vibe! Thanks
The internet could have been better.
