Good location, very close to metro station Extremely unfriendly staff at the reception and very unhelpful. Not willing to assist at all. Breakfast is more than basic and the room facilities is extremely basic too. Rated as a four star hotel, it felt like a hostel after we reached the hotel. Also, it's extremely old and carpet dirty, it definitely needs some freshen up. I don't recommend this hotel. We also had to change rooms a few times. The first night, they gave us a room facing the road. The sound protection is almost non-existent. It was almost like we slept on the street or with window open.

Good location. Original spa facilities very good. Value for money. Rooms are very basic and some would say in need of updating. Long wait for lifts at peak times. Very early check-out (10.00)!

We were very disappointed with Buenos Aires as a city. It was filthy dirty and there were no shops open on sundays or public holidays. The beautiful old buildings were in a very bad state and the whole city needs to be cleaned up. The staff behind the desk were ok - not very helpful at all.

One staff member went out of their way to help me with any enquiries I had. The hotel has a magnificent foyer and a lovey breakfast. You can have a Turkish, Finnish or whatever bath price is included in hotel. If you want a massage you can have one at a very reasonable price. Great hairdresser few shops away ´Jórge´. Aussie dollar is worth 4 times the Peso so great shopping! General public very friendly and helpful and the architecture is stunning. It could probably do with new carpet and a paint job in the halls and the rooms. Also they do not have bbc or cnn in their cable, so it´s impòssible to find out the news unless you buy a paper. Brush up on yur Spanish though. Most spèak little English.

A hotel with a history of grandeur in the past, centrally located in the heart of the city. Rooms and bathrooms need some updating.

Location of the hotel is very central. Airconditioning in some of the rooms is antiquated. Some rooms have been renovated - ask for one of these if they are available.

It was walking distance from nearly all the places I wanted to visit on my trip. Further places could be reach because the metroline is outside or few blocks away (depending on line you wanted to take). Great cafes close by. Building in the hotel was noisy.

Reception staff made us very welcome and complied immediately with a request for a room overlooking the main avenue even though we arrived 4 hrs before check-in time Adequate bathroom and good bed - all linens changed daily with good breakfast each morning. Free daily access to the excellent spa was a big bonus. The rooms are not large but at this price, especially considering location with buses and underground station at the front door, they are a bargain. After a 13 hr. flight from Europe, initial feelings may be a bit jaded, but to me, reception was bright and shiny and first feelings were good, but my wife thought that the seating in reception was tired looking with well-worn upholstery - I think it looked a bit better in the morning! The room was smaller than expected and the decoration decidedly dull. The walls and paintwork were in good condition but drab, possibly to be in keeping with the hotel's historical connection. The airconditioning did little to keep the room cool in the heat of February in BA. But the room was not actually unpleasant, just a bit of an initial disappointment. Whole hotel though, is excellent value for money

central location rooms are: old, smelly, ugly, no sound proof, air conditioner (window) making to much noise and when you are opening window you can't sleep because others conditioners are noise as well.bed is small and not comfortable. on site it's says that this is 4* hotel - forget about, it was 2* 50 years ago (in best case) when Garcia Lorca accidental spent there few nights..

The facade of the hotel is very impressive. The tradition can be realized when you look at the doors and the ceiling of the hotel. The rooms are OK and you can feel an "old and romantic" environment. The elevator needs refurbishment. Breakfast is very good and includes beautiful and juicy fruits (some of them seems to be polished). The neighbor is good, also. Definitely a good place to stay.

The location was very good as was the price. I was pleased to have internet access at no charge. It was very surprising to me that a hotel which caters to an international clientele did not have a staff that possessed a good working knowledge of English, This to me is a major drawback inn staying at this hotel on subsequent visits. I would recommend this hotel, but with cautionary comments.

History and design of the building. Excellent spa! Room was quite spartan, but comfortable beds and very good sound insulation. A/C was not working well enough and it was 40 c in Buenos Aires...

Hotel was in a very good location and the front desk / concierge extremely efficient and accomodating. Breakfasts were also good. We had two stays at the hotel in the period of two weeks and the room we acquired on the second visit was superior to the one we originally received. Room allocation can be hit and miss but even the inferior room was clean and adequate

We liked the location, the helpful staff at the reception desk who were always willing to suggest ideas. We were surprised to find out on our first stay (we stayed 3 times in 3 weeks) that a small room qualified as no windows at all. This made us a little claustrophobic and we were able to upgrade the next day

The friendly and very helpful staff, great variety of food at the breakfast buffet, flexible check out hours The small double room i booked was way to small for me, my husband and our one year old daughter. To me that room is fine for a solo traveller or a couple, but with kids the space is too crowded, especially with 3 baggages. But the hotel staff were kind and they switched us to a much bigger room, of course paying a higher rate, but it was worth it, room was very comfortable, clean and we enjoyed our stay there.

“The hotel is downtown, yet central to everything. Basic and simple, good value for money. The area whilst a little run down, is safe and as a female solo traveller I felt completely safe. There is a great restaurant next door and a great little plaza with little coffee shops and cocktail places next door. Recoleta is about a 45 min walk. What makes this place is the amazing staff. English speaking (which I found actually rarer than I thought in Buenos Aires). The guys at the front desk could not be more helpful with luggage, directions, advice, tours etc .. I would stay again but only because the staff are so fabulous.” Charlotte, Bournemouth |
