Location is pretty convenient to visit main touristic place in the city centre and San Telmo. Good connection to underground lines and buses. Breakfast was OK.
No air cond at all and poor ventilation (only one fan for 8 beds in the dorm). Not enough power plugs nor lights in the dorms. No pillow cases. Even that the hostel policy limited loud noise after mid-night, music and partying people, including the staff, kept going up to 2am. I complained once and one of the staff was extremely rude. When I complained again other staff changed my room, but the noise was so loud that it didn't help much.
The showers are disgusting and there isn't always cold water. No air con anywhere - only had fans. No ventilation, literally sweating from the moment you leave the shower for the rest if the day. One fan for 12 beds. The music is always too loud, layout is poor, too hot!
Friendly helpfull and polite Staff Breakfest Patio Specious hall Free computer desks Kitchen available all time
Sometimes all bathrooms was occupied
Friendly staff, clean room with two bathrooms
Nice common room and a small garden.
There are not enough lockers for everyone. The kitchen is small and has just a few pans and disches. The coffee for breakfast is awful.
Bar closed at midnight?!?!?!
Good vibes for partying, great location.
Some persons from the staff are rather partying than attending your requests.
Staff was great Breakfast was good
The music is unnecessarily loud The rain leaks into the rooms and down the stairs The lockers are a diaster They smoke at open doors so the smoke comes back in the main rooms at the bar
dirty, not enough shower, I had to wati for brear for breakfast 40 minutes
position, kitchen available
lack of socket, wi-fi not working, lack of water, toilet conditions
Great staff. Very very friendly and very helpful. Drink prices are pretty good and they can organise tours for you. There is always something you can do every day. Get you free entry to clubs as well. Beds were comfy and my 8 bed dorm had to separate bathrooms in it, that had hot water-most of the time.
Not too many food options near by and the hostel don't arrange anything like other che lagarto's i have stayed in and the kitchen is small but this is a minor thing. Music in the communal area is sometimes a bit loud and they keep it pretty dark there. the noise does not effect the rooms above so dw. One trip i went on through them wasnt that great but that was nothing to do with them that was the tour companies fault.
Helpful staff and good location
Not very clean, not many bathrooms and no pillow case provided. Also struggled to find a power point to charge phone and they had a heater on in the room despite it being nearly 20 degrees outside!
Really friendly staff. Good showers, and standard dorm rooms.
A good basic breakfast laid out, but finished at 10am, sharp!
WiFi only works at the front desk.
we had lack of water many times..the water sometimes wasnt hot...and the wi fi doesnt work on the second and third floor...
Had to go out to the stairs to use wi fi
Big rooms with window. Clean facilities, friendly staff. Good music and breakfast.
The location is good. I could find everything i wanted near and i could take any bus to anywhere i wanted to just crossing the street. The breakfast is good for a free meal and the commun area is fine too.
In my opinion the price inst fair with the acomodations. No air-conditionated in a terrible killer hot weather of summer in Buenos Aires, just one ventilador not too strong was definately not enough. And that "Fridge" for the guests is terrible, dirty, too small and that friddge wasnt strong enough to keep cold with so many people opening it during the day. Come on! You should get the example from the hostel "El Gualicho" in Puerto Madryn, thats an example of a good kitchen, and a decent fridge. (And the price is not that different from what ive payed in Che Lagarto). The bathrooms were most of the time dirty too.
Staffs are super friendly and helpful - book tours/dinner/ transfer to the airport and all kinds of stuffs for me since I cannot speak Spanish. Good location in the center. Breakfast was excellent.
Really hot without air conditioner and the fan did not help at all, bathroom did not have a lock and cannot entirely close(we share dorm with another 5 people, I do not want anyone to walk into a bathroom when I am showering) and it was not clean at all, wifi did not work in the bedroom, only in common area and gave such a hard time if you have an iPhone. I think it is expensive for its quality. Really loud at night, they do not have quite hours policy.
