Hotel Colon

Locatie (centrum, dichtbij metro, centraal voor bezoek andere wijken BA), uitzicht op de Colon, ontbijt

zwembad en dakterras waren nog gesloten, alleen in zomermaanden open.

Het personeel is steeds vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ontbijtbuffet is verzorgd en uitgebreid. De lokatie is uitstekend. Dit alles bevestigde mijn goede indruk van enkele jaren geleden.

The localization and the confort of the rooms

At the moment to pay the bill there was a VAT of 21% , this is so much , we wasn't use to pay in the other reservation or was included and we knew how much to pay before.

Great location, breakfast was great. Overall happy with experience

The rooms are small but we were only in the room to sleep.

Very clean, quiet on back side of hotel, staff helpful, maids very attentive, location good for sight seeing, great price, breakfast buffet excellent, no complaints, highly recommend it.

The Hotel Colon is a place for business or pleasure travellers who are content with the basics (clean and comfortable rooms, extensive breakfast buffet, and outdoor pool) at a reasonable price. The rooms are smallish measured against current United States standards, but if you're into measuring things against the US, you shouldn't be leaving the United Sates. Hotel Colon is above average by world standards, and ranks as excellent when the price is consdered, even if you use rack rates as the basis. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The Hotel Colon is centrally located, 1/2 block from a Subte station that is within two stations of connecting to all the Subte lines in BA. Overall it is a good value for the money.

The only drawback is that the Hotel Colon charges for internet connections, either by the hour or for a twenty four consecutive hours. We purchased by the hour and monitored our usage -- the 24 hour option is not economical unless you plan to stay in the hotel all day. While free wi-fi or even hard wired internet connection is preferred, we would have accepted the 24 hour option if the time could be spread throught our stay instead of within 24 hours of initial log on. The bottom line, though, is that a hotel carrying the star rating of the Hotel Colon should not be charging it's guests for internet usage.

Location excellent and breakfast awesome.

The bathroom is small, but cost-benefit excellent (US$75-day).

The room faced internal part of the building . Not a pretty sight. Next time I will ask for a room facing the main avenue

Size of rooms was good. Food was good. Baggage storage.

Checkout time was 10am and hotel staff were standing outside the door at exactly 10! we had been told the night before that we could probably keep the room until later in the day, since our plane didn't fly out until 8 pm. However in the morning we were told the hotel was full and were quickly checked out. But, they did store our luggage for us.
