[RH] Rochester Calafate

Die Rezeptionsmitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht zu helfen. Allerdings sprachen einige davon so gut wie kein Englisch, was wir anders erwartet hätten.

1. Die Zimmer sind schlecht geplant (riesiges halbleeres Bad zu Kosten eines engen Zimmers). Dazu eine tolle Duschkabine, die man erst alleine lernen muss zu bedienen. 2. Das Hotel liegt am Ende der Welt - den Ort kann man nicht zu Fuss erreichen. 3. Die Zimmer sind extrem laut - keine oder unzureichende Dämmung der Wänder / Türen. Man hört alles mit. 4. Z.T. fehlende Englischkenntnisse des Rezeptionspersonals.

We liked the nearby(walking distance) to the horseriding excursions and also the walking potential around Lake Argentina. The desk staff was very informative and helpful all the time.

Nice hotel, clean and quiet (if you get used to the wind), friendly hotel staff.

Shuttle service from hotel to town with irregular hours. Too far to go by foot.

Sight,Peace, a good transfer to El Calafate downtown,good breackfast and some facilities and amenities like good films and internet.

todo resulto muy bueno !!! entre otras cosas destaco tambien la excelente cocina muy buena atencion de personal etc etc.

The breakfast was very good. The view was lovely. The room was tastefully decorated. The WIFI in the room.

The lack of air conditioning in the room. The lack of any ventilation in the bathroom. The lack of insect screens at the window - if you are not going to have AC, then you should at least have this. The poor sound insulation between the rooms and to the corridor. The late check in time of 3 pm.

Great Rooms (large, clean). Very nice breakfast buffet. Staff at the counter speaks english. Free shuttle service to downtown (only morning and evening but then quite frequently).

A bit far from downtown (appr. 3,5km). $8 for a cab or take the shuttle. Internet was included, but rather slow and quite unstable. PC's in the lobby very bad configured.

Nice view over the lake from the public areas. Good rate

The hotel is a long way out of town. Confusingly, it isn't signed as the Rochester, but the Elan hotel - our taxi driver took a while to find it. Our room was at the back of the hotel, not with the lakeside view.

location is too far from the city center, however the hotel does provide a shuttle bus service to and from the city.

Large open lobby downstairs, free wifi in hotel room, nice setting and surroundings outside, dinner and breakfast was very good, regular shuttle service to town (otherwise a 30 min walk).

Noisy neighbours but not the hotel's fault !! In our room, the bathroom ended up being a jacuzzi bath with shower right in the bedroom which we were not aware of when booking the room. Also we booked it under the name "Rochester Plaza " but the name on the sign at the hotel is Elan - this led to some confusion with our taxi driver.
