Estancia La Quinta  

Solo la gentilezza di Alvaro, (figlio dei proprietari) che ci ha servito al ristorante.

Non è una "estancia" ! La chiamano estancia solo per attirare I clienti e mascherare tutte le carenze di una struttura da due stelle, altro che quattro stelle. Due cavalli e due mucche per "fare scena". E' l'unica struttura alberghiera di El Chalten da cui non si vede il Fitz Roy Il sentiero di due chilometri per arrivarci è il peggior "ripio" percorso in Patagonia. Il proprietario Sig.Alfredo è una persona solo apparentemente seria e corretta. In realtà è la persona più scorretta che abbiamo incontrato in tutto il nostro viaggio di un mese in Sud America. Nonostante avessimo prenotato la camera Senior, ci ha dato una camera piccolissima, vicino alle scale in un soppalco, con una finestrella in un angolo della camera, col bagno piccolissimo e puzzolente...altro che jacuzzi: non funzionavano nemmeno I rubinetti. Quando lo abbiamo detto al Sig.Alfredo ci ha risposto che ci trovavamo in una "estancia ", non in uno Sheraton: con un fare infastidito ci ha dato un'altra camera, ma poco è cambiato.La tenda di plastica della doccia era sporca e puzzolente. Passando nei corridoi abbiamo visto delle camere migliori, ma erano tutte in disordine: evidentemente non hanno personale proprio per pulirle tutti I giorni. E' tutto al risparmio anche nei minimi particolari: dalle chiavi elettroniche riciclate da altri hotel, alla "misera"colazione rigorosamente "sorvegliata" dalla moglie del Sig. Alfredo. Abbiamo chiesto aiuto per I bagagli,(posto che non c'è l'ascensore), ma il Sig.Alfredo, appena abbiamo pagato il conto è sparito senza aiutarci. Voto complessivo: 4

favoloso!una posizione invidiabile ,nel verde più totale ricco di ogni tipo di animale.con ristorante ,servito in modo assolutamente decoroso.il titolare ,sig.Alfredo,Vi riempirà di tutte le coccole possibili.

The Estancia La Quinta was a great place to stay! The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the location is awesome (right outside of El Chalten, the access point to some of the most fabulous hiking and mountain scenery in South America). The food at their restaurant was also great and featured local dishes such as lamb with calafate sauce and trout. I would recommend the hosteria to anyone who loves friendly people and beautiful scenery.

- You need to take a taxi from el chalten (40 pesos) to reach the estancia. However, Alfredo offers a "shuttle service" in the morning and in the afteroon to reach el chalten and the senderos start point.

Very friendly staff, esp. Owner who speaks flawless English and who made very good suggestions for the best use of our time. Breakfast good and hearty but typical Argentine/American breakfast. Very clean. Owner very enlightening and answers questions of all types re life in this area and his background. Would stay again. Note-this place is not in town but is about 5-10 minutes out of town but signs could not be easier to find the hotel. Can see it easily on the way into town.

Run by a wonderful couple who have lived on the Estancia for years, this is just outside El Chalten with lovely views of the steppe and mountains, with horses and cows right outside the rooms. Free shuttles to the trails, interesting history, comfortable rooms.

Not for someone who wants to go to bars at night.

Excellent staff and freindly which is very importanat- excellent breakfast - very nice room and lobby areas - we were alone in the hotel as it was before start of season

A little expensive , dinner was kind of dissapointing - expensive but wasnt such great

Everything was delightful. Very comfortable. Most hospitable owners and staff. Great breakfast and good restaurant. Collected from-dropped off at bus stop, driven into town and collected twice daily by Hotel and also helped with organising future travel plans.
