we arrived late at night and checked in pretty smoothly. the next day we returned to the room at around 8pm after a long day tour and found out the hot water doesnt work. it took us about an hour of waiting in the lobby and speaking to 5 different people to get a new room and then finding out that it had the same problem. that was a terrible experience and the worst value for money i have ever had
Even after changing room, we got another noisy room with A/C units next to the room with absolutely no view.
Good value for money.
First room had horrible, smelly carpet. Asked to be switched to room without carpet and that was alright. Front desk guy wasn't happy to switch us.
Facilities, breakfast, room, pool.
2 taxis, both booked by reception, were over- priced by 20%.
Location was very good, close to the main central square and all the sights. Gym was very well equipped, so you can have a quite good training there every day.
We were unsatisfied with the approach of all receptionists - young guys who were not so motivated in their job, not very pleasant and polite, no smile. Sometimes we had a feeling that we bother them with our questions and requests. Washing of our short pens was a story for them - we needed to chase them to get them washed on time. Besides, they firstly wanted to charge us a higher price for standard pens. Be aware that your room will not be cleaned in case that you do not leave your room key in the reception every day when leaving the hotel. Breakfast full of sweet cakes, bread and extremely sweet non-100 per cent juices, no ham, no cheese, yoghurt only in liquid form. Generally not so bad, but the service level of the reception was disappointing for us.
Big rooms, comfortable and installations
Service & breakfast
Good location and helpful staff. The room is huge and confortable and the breakfast is good.
It is not expensive for what if offers, but definitely not cheap.
Close to town centre, nice big room, OK pool for the children.
Room was a bit dirty, no mini bar in room, breakfast choice very limited.
Staff were very helpful. Big, comfortable bed, good breakfast for Argentina, close to centre.
Would be nice to have a fridge or mini-bar considering the room was huge. No bar in hotel to sit and have a drink.
Used, outdated facilities, horrible smell in the room, dirty, used bathroom (towels with holes!!!), poor breakfast. I had a feeling nobody cared about this hotel. If something brakes down, nobody fixes.
Location was good, ticked the boxes for the price
Nothing outstanding. Looking for elusive plug sockets we found lots of dust that hadn't been cleaned for weeks/months. Little natural light.
I booked this hotel as I had just ended a long bus journey so wanted something a little nicer than my usual budget traveller digs. It was exactly what I wanted, especially at such a bargain price. My room was huge, clean and had good aircon. There's a pool on the roof too which was nice.
As you expect with a lot of larger hotels, it's a bit soulless for the independent traveller, but that's not unexpected.
Huge clean rooms, great swimming pool, lovely staff, five minute walk to the plaza, nice restaurant.
Wifi only available in reception, no eggs at breakfast.
Good location. Wi fi worked well.
Staff only so so. Not much English. Didn't make bed on 1st day. No lotion or wash cloth. Staff didn't seem very engaged, or friendly.
We only stayed one night but it is evident this is a popular hotel with tourists and one family we met who had stayed a week. The staff were most obliging and we'd certainly stay here again. Our room was first class in size and comfort. The roof top pool/terrace was a great place to cool down and to get a panorama of Salta.
Breakfast facilities and offerings were a little on the regimented and basic side compared with other comparable hotels we'd used in Argentina.
really big room, with tv and a nice view, staff was helpfull, terraze with table soccer
everything was a bit used, so in our bathroom we weren't quite sure if it was clean or not. the pool was far away from the pictures you see, water was green and it looked like you would catch a lot of diseases jumping in there.
A fair budget option.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the room we were in was spacious and had all the facilities you would expect in a 3 star.
Attention to detail in the rooms. Some minor repairs could make the room even better. (torn wallpaper, stains etc).
Everything at the Hotel Ghala is excellent.
