눉We booked this hotel via booking.com, and we stayed there for 5 nights,from 2014/11/16 to 2014/11/21. The Wifi was so poor in the room, and there is no window facing outside. But those were not the badest issues yet. When we checked out at the front desk, the GENTLEMAN told us we need to pay in U$ since that we booked the hotel in US$. I asked him why we couldn't pay in PISO with Argentina official exchange rate 1:8.5(US$:PISO), that GENTLEMAN told us it iwas because we booked it in US$, that was their hotel's rule! OK, I agreed, and gave him my credit card, and told him to charge my credit card in US$. But that GENTLEMAN charged my credit card directly in PISO with exchange rate 1:14.5 without asking me even one word!!! I asked him why, the answer was their hotel could not handle transaction in US $. I refused to sign the bill, and after nearly 30 minutes negotiation, he agreed to cancel the transaction, and recharged my credit card in US $. OMG, you just told me your hotel could not handle transaction in US $ !!!
The consequence of the arguments with this GENTLEMAN was that we missed our flight, only 2 minutes late...
We checked all our reservation made via booking.com in Argentina, the price of all the reservation confirmations sent to guest and the hotel were marked in US $ even we select Argentina PISO when we booked it, and actually we can pay in Argentina PISO with the official exchange rate 1:8.5.
This hotel, Howard Johnson Plaza Florida is absolutely not recommended in my personal opinion.
