Excellent buffet breakfast and service
Location is the best spot..
Things look old-fashion, not that comfortable and dark. Breakfast is fair.
Nice spacious rooms, renewed breakfast room, new chairs, looks very charming. Good wifi, with frigobar. Very comfortable beds....
I think they should start renewing the bathrooms, a little bit old fashioned.
Fantastic location right on the main shopping street and walking distance from main attractions. Hotel is located on a pedestrianized road so taxis need to drop you about 100m away. Evening dinner was surprisingly good although service was rather slow.
Uncomfortable high pillows
We booked this hotel via booking.com, and we stayed there for 5 nights, from 2014/11/16 to 2014/11/21. The Wifi was so poor in the room, and there is no window facing outside. But those were not the badest issues yet. When we checked out at the front desk, the GENTLEMAN told us we need to pay in U$ since that we booked the hotel in US$. I asked him why we couldn't pay in PISO with Argentina official exchange rate 1:8.5(US$:PISO), that GENTLEMAN told us it iwas because we booked it in US$, that was their hotel's rule! OK, I agreed, and gave him my credit card, and told him to charge my credit card in US$. But that GENTLEMAN charged my credit card directly in PISO with exchange rate 1:14.5 without asking me even one word!!! I asked him why, the answer was their hotel could not handle transaction in US $. I refused to sign the bill, and after nearly 30 minutes negotiation, he agreed to cancel the transaction, and recharged my credit card in US $. OMG, you just told me your hotel could not handle transaction in US $ !!! The consequence of the arguments with this GENTLEMAN was that we missed our flight, only 2 minutes late... We checked all our reservation made via booking.com in Argentina, the price of all the reservation confirmations sent to guest and the hotel were marked in US $ even we select Argentina PISO when we booked it, and actually we can pay in Argentina PISO with the official exchange rate 1:8.5. This hotel, Howard Johnson Plaza Florida is absolutely not recommended in my personal opinion.
Reception/Concierge staff were very attentive and pleasant; provided helpful/reassuring advice and guidance on tours, travel and getting around the city and to the airport. WiFi was excellent. Great people a credit to their country.
Transport/road had to be accessed a short distance from hotel entrance due 'mall' location but excellent concierge facilitation.
location beds room size
didnt really like the bathtub, seems old for a nice room
+ Fitness center includes Threadmill and weights, very clean with towels and water + Lobby nice + staff very friendly and helpful + great exchange rate for US$ into Argentina$
- Rooms are quite dark - breakfast quality could increase. No real orange juice, cold cuts
Dangerous área, take care!
Location, room, breakfast
Staff at reception, check in procedure (they demanded full payment upfront at check in)
Room is excelent
When checking out, a room service and a restaurant fair (which were not used at all) were charged. If I hadn't checked everything, I would have paid for services I didn't use ($ 200 pesos).
The food at the new restaurant is really good, I had had the best Caesar Salad of my entire life, very fresh.
Everything was ok.
Nice and safety
Noise of aircondition ! Even if you turn it off it sounds like the shower is running the whole night. The furniture is falling apart, dirty carpets, elevators which are from the previous decade ... Breakfast is really very poor! Enterance of the hotel and the quality of the staff are also bad ! Worst Howard Johnson I have stayed at .
I did not like breakfast. I think that could have more variety and one day I saw an insect (fly) over the croissant. Thanks for the attention.
Great location, nice breakfast and room size.
Mattress softness (probably used enough).
You cannot approach the hotel by cab. Be aware if you are with suitcases or disabled people. The hotel staff told us that it was unsafe to stroll nearby after 8pm. BreakfAst was beyond the expected.
very servicial staffs. extremely convenient location for businessmen.
breakfast is somewhat poor.
Proactive personnel, specially those of front desk!
Breakfast juices could be better;
The hotel is located in the heart of the city, near restaurants, stores, bus station, metro, touristic points. It's possible to go walking for several places.
Breakfast is the same everyday with few options.
