Score from 197 reviews Wonderful
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay.
Strong smell of cleaning products in the bedroom area.
Location is the only positive about this place.
Terrible gas/potpourri smell in room. Mold on shower curtain. Rude staff at times. Very expensive for what it is. Only accept cash.
the stuff, all the guys at reception and especially Cesar are going all their ways beyond their duty to make you happy
more than happy, definitely come back to this hotel
It was excellent place to stay, really good breakfats, lovely garden
Our room had a weird smell of bleach or something, which wasn;t great - the only negative
Kau Kaleshen is a block off the main tourist street, and that's just enough distance to give it a peaceful air, yet still be close to the action. Rooms are good size, quiet and clean. There is a pleasant tree/greenery-filled courtyard and a common room for TV, computer, reading, relaxing. Staff is excellent and can arrange day trips, transport, and provide lots of local information. Cesar was wonderful. The attached restaurant was excellent as well. Highly recommended.
Very nice hosteria with a lovely garden out the back and a comfortable lounge. Wifi worked pretty well. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast selection was ok, but could be improved. Note that this hotel only takes cash...which was a bit inconvenient as we had trouble withdrawing cash from the ATMs in town (many don't work with maestro cards and the ones that did had run out of cash). However, cash-only payment seems pretty common amongst hotels in el calafate and el chalten - just remember to bring enough cash with you!
Great location very near the main street of El Calafate.
Dim rooms, must pay in cash, and quoted price does not include 21% tax unlike other places in Argentina we booked through booking.com. Not bad but not great. There are much better places to stay in El Calafate although the location is quite prime if that's important to you.
Very small rooms, but clean
They do not accept Visa card. Bring your cash.
The location was great, with an inhouse restaurant that you should visit no matter if you stay here or not. The staff was friendly and the room was spotless.
Not the fault of the hotel; but El Calafate is not really a great place to spend the night. Head on as soon as you've seen the glacier!
Location was perfect. Only a block away from downtown.
Wifi was very slow.
Centrally located, nice place, friendly staff - helped us with all the trips Great value for the money
I loved this little place so much. We were welcomed by a wonderful woman who helped us instantly when we had questions about doing the Perito Moreno day trip. The bus station is a 5 min walk away which is great and the hosteria is located one street away from the main area. It's a great street full of loads of activity, bars and restaurants. I loved it here. Our room was fantastic too. It was so warm and cosy and the shower was the best bit. Really strong pressure and loads of hot water.
The only thing that could of been better was the breakfast. Unfortunately it does not give you the full stomach for a big day ahead I think you need. Really below average in my opinion and could do with improving. However, we noticed on most reviews on different hosterias this seem to be the same everywhere.
Kind and helpful staff who make an effort to make you feel welcome. Spacious comfortable and clean rooms/bathrooms. Small safe available. Excellent, "facetime-proof" wifi.
As at every hotel we stayed at in Argentina (so we don't blame Kau Kaleshen in particular), the breakfast was aweful. Brown water in stead of coffee, stale bread, and tasteless cheese.
Excellent, friendly, and very helpful staff.
Beds a bit small, but no big deal.
very friendly and helpful staff, quiet hotel with lovely garden, excellent location
Nothing to dislike
Loved everything else.
The room was dark and needed more light.
The staff were wonderful, they couldn't do enough to help you. A lovely little hotel, secluded garden, nice little bar and restaurant.
Helpful friendly staff
Noisy disco in town which went on until 6am every morning.
We spent $240+ 21% vat for 2 nights. Unfortunately we came away with a sore feeling about this place. Staff were pushy sales people (especially the lady)continuously pushing us towards spending more on everything - expensive holiday dinners onsite saying we will not have many options left if we do not sign up soon (we found many excellent places packed with people at 20% of their dinner cost!). If we asked them to make reservations for tours, taxi or something else they always found a lame excuse to sign up for the more expensive options and used scared tactics whenever they could. We are experienced travelers having traveled many parts of the world and in terms of staff attitude this was one of our worst experience. It's a shame because I love nice boutique hotels and other than staff attitude this would have been a nice little place in spite of the standing water in shower, and no exhaust / a window in the bathroom that does not stay open to allow air
The location is perfect, the place is nice & quiet and the staff is a great help.
WI-FI connection was not really working well.
Nice garden and nice breakfast room.
The room on the basement smelled as a cave and was very dark. You can pay only cash.
Staff very hetlpful, good breakfast, location excellent
Shower was poor, room was very dark, wifi was erratic
Very friendly & helpful staff, decent breakfast, nice living room area, nice restaurant in the hotel, must try the brownie with homemade lavender ice cream!!
No wifi connection in the rooms, shower curtains was worn out and a little smelly
