Kau si Aike  

- Patricia (the owner of the inn) is the nicest person that I've met in Argentina during my trip. She is attentive, kind, cheery and ready to help on all issues. - Great location - one can easily walk to bus stop, trail heads, and restaurants from the hotel - Rooms are spacious and clean. They are not luxury hotel rooms, but very luxury for hikers who are doing some of the most beautiful hikes in the world - There is tea maker in the room - Breakfast is included in our room rate. Unfortunately, it was all carbs (no eggs, no fruits). That seems to be normal when we chatted with other hikers. There is a supermarket/souvenir shop a couple of minutes from the hotel that one can buy hard boiled eggs, fruits, and yogurt to add to the hotel breakfast. Guests are welcome to use the hotel's fridge.

Excellent service, great value for money (considering that Chalten is not the cheapest place in the world). The bed is comfortable, the bath rooms are nice and clean, and the breakfast is homemade. Most of all though, the owner is an absolute sweethart who is always willing to help, albeit in limited english.

As mentioned the breakfast is really good - I would however have loved the option to buy some eggs on the side, as white toast (homemade!) is not an ideal starter for trekking the mountains.

It is a fantastic place with great staff! The staff made all the little changes etc. right away we needed. They were on top. A great place, I would go back any time! The staff were like family to us!

The couple that owns the place are really nice people and will make everything in their power to make your stay pleasant. The rooms do not have fridge, but you can use that in their kitchen if needed. In a tiny town like El Chanten, location is not an issue, but it is very nice to have a view of both Cerros Fitzroy and Torre. They even have Internet now, although the connection is very slow - the entire city has to share a 100 Mbit connection.

You can hear almost everything people do in other rooms. Usually people are so tired of the trekking that they go to sleep right away, but if you are unlucky enough to be beside someone that cannot be quiet, as was our case in one of the nights, then you may have some trouble sleeping.

Patricia and her husband Nicolas are the best possible hosts. Fantastic people, friendly, helpful I.E. they made phone calls for us to find out more information about buses, restaurant reservation, etc. Our Spanish is very limited, so is their English, however we managed just fine. Breakfast is delicious as Patricia bakes bread and cakes the night before. Room was simple, spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a microwave and fridge for guests use. Highly recommend this place and would not consider staying anywhere else if I returned to El Chalten. Thank you Patricia and Nicolas for an extremely pleasant stay.

Run by the best, friendliest hosts ever. Awesome breakfast, fresh home made cakes. Very clean.

Great Hotel, we wherevin the cottage with our 2 sons. Space, heat, location, breakfast: all great!

It was not possible to pay with Credit Card. Only dollars and cash....!!!! Quite annoying.

We liked everything about Kau si Aike! I don't think we have ever had a better experience at a bed and breakfast, hotel, or other lodging. At the moment we walked in the front door, Patricia warmly greeted us. We planned on backpacking our first night in El Chalten, and Patricia allowed us to store some luggage at Kau si Aike until we checked in the next afternoon so we wouldn't have to lug it all with us. We noticed many small things that set Kau si Aike apart from many other places we stayed in Chile and Argentina, like having bathrooms (with toilet paper!) off of the common room, having a larger (not micro) garbage can in our room, having an open area in our room to store luggage/gear so we didn't have to trip all over it, and having a side table with stools/chairs in our room so we could sit and plan/eat. The hot water was hot, the room was quiet, and we could keep our key when we left. Patricia also went out of her way to help us with planning our hiking and exploring activities, spending a lot of time just talking with us and letting us ask questions. We thoroughly recommend Kau si Aike after spending two nights there!

Patricia was very friendly and a great resource.

A very warm welcome, and most friendly. All rooms have their private entrance. Very clean and comfortable. Definitely a "we come back"

Zum Frühstück gibt es frisch gebackenes Brot und Kuchen von der Besitzerin. Patricia und Nicolas kümmern sich sehr liebenswürdig und kompetent um ihre Gäste. Fitz Roy und Cerro Torre sind stets im Blick - großartig!

La vista al Chalten y Cerro Torre es excelente al igual que la ubicacion. El desayuno es lo mas!!

Realmente fuimos atendidos como en casa. Las tortas y el pan casero del desayuno, elaborado por la dueña,eran muy buenos y mostraban la amabilidad con la que nos atendieron

El hotel es comodisimo, ubicado en un lugar centrico de el chalten. Patricia es increiblemente amable. el lugar es recomendable.
