La Cantera Jungle Lodge  

De lodge is gunstig gelegen aan de rand van de stad maar toch in een beschermd bosgebied. De lodge ligt 20 minuten van het Iguazu nationale park af. De kamers zijn bijzonder ruim en luxe. Het ruime balkon op de eerste etage is rondom voorzien van horren zodat je er heerlijk kunt zitten zonder dat insecten je aanvallen. Het restaurant is prima en niet prijzig. Alle luxe en dat voor een junglelodge. De rust is heel prettig. Alles op de kamer klopt, safe en te vaak zelfs nieuwe handdoeken terwijl we juist probeerden het milieu te beschermen en ze niet vaak te laten wassen.

De lodge ligt niet echt in de jungle zoals de naam suggereert. Junglegeluiden mis je er wel maar uiteraard is dit geen klacht, integendeel, het ligt erg rustig. In de kamer is zelfs een jacuzzibad aanwezig maar dat vonden wij toch te veel van het goede. Zeker als je er dan een kaartje in legt waarop staat dat, als je de jacuzzi gebruikt, dat je 250 liter water misbruikt en afneemt van de plaatselijke Indianen. Tja, wij zouden ook blij zijn met een inloopdouche bijvoorbeeld want je gaat in die omstandigheden geen jacuzzi gebruiken toch.

De prachtige natuur en de onverwachte tango-show tijdens het diner.

Er is servicematig nog heel wat te verbeteren, al zijn het erg aardige mensen.

La Cantera is possibly the best Hotel I've ever been! The treatment that the staff gives to you is unbelieveable, they make all the efforts for you to feel pleased! The Room is just the best, well decorated and cozy. The location is the best, in the jungle but a few minutes from the city (actually you can walk 30 min and there you are, or by car). I will definetely be there again.

I cant say something bad. The stay was perfect. I had one day of overbooking and they explained everything to me. I needed to be transfered, but they sent me to a great hotel, just beside in the same conditions. Fair and honest.

We liked very much, is a great place to relax an have a good time, the scenery is excellent and beautiful. Not far from Cataratas, the main attraction there.

I would only suggest them to have transportation to the highway, maybe somthing like a golf cart or so, with the heat, the 20' walk was not that nice

Location was great nestled into the jungle. Rooms were spacious with private balcony. Beds comfortable. Housekeeping was good.

Facility was not well maintained. Burnt out lights were not replaced, toilets did not flush, leaking sink, dripping pipes.

Jungle atmosphere and comfort. All staff are friendly and helpful. They change towels twice a day.

Restaurant food could be better.

Luxury in a jungle setting.

High cost to have a late check out when our flight wasn't until 9:30 pm. However, we were allowed to use all the facilities and they were very accommodating to store our luggage, etc.

Jungle location, helpful staff, good restaurant and excellent facilities.

Great room, well equipped and quite new. Excellent jungle surroundings. Delightful pool area.

Food is poor. Breakfast not bad, although they were certainly not ready for those who arrived on time for the 7am start! Bottled water overpriced.

Jungle setting, away from the town. Relaxing atmosphere, excellent room.

Lovely big rooms and nice pool area and easy to get to Iguazu falls.

Food very average but not too expensive cosidering there is no where else to go really. Perfect for trip to falls but wouldnt want to stay for longer thn 2 nights, would get bored. Breakfast is pretty bad. 1 cereal, orange drink, some cold rubber eggs which never got eaten and grumpy waitress, also never any bowels or plates. Bbq dinner gave you plate of mxed meat but more fat than meat and no choice, lot of strange bits I didnt recognise. Check out is at 10 and cost extra us$100 to use room til 1.30!!

Nice hotel in the middle of the jungle. When we arrived, we thought it was not a good decision since we would depend on taxis all the time as it is so isolated, but with 20 miuntes walk we arrive to the avenue where other hotels are and from there we could take buses to the city or to the waterfalls. It is very nice hotel, with a swimming pool surrounded by the jungle. Breakfast was also very good.

We didnt like that when checking out we were offered for a 10% of discount when paying cash. We didnt have so much cash and there is no atm, and we were not told of this offer before, so we felt a bit stupid int he end because it is an expensive place and we could have saved some money if we had known before
