Locaton, building, especially the dining area, very good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
Unreliable Wifi, unreliable electricity.
The room was not as expected - don't trust the pictures and don't get a more expensive room. Horrid breakfast
The staff is Very kind And Careful. The Rooms are Clean And original Style.
The hotel is located in a central area, near Obelisk, Tortoni's Cafe, Plaza de Mayo, Florida, San Telmo and other Buenos Aires spots. The localization is a very good option to move within city, especially by foot. I really liked the hotel's atmosphere. It's simple and cool.
The hotel doesn't accept credit card. The payment must be done with money. The breakfast could be better (especially the juice).
The building, the ambience
Some of receptionists were polite to us.
We are extremely dissatisfied. We asked for the quitest room and they gave us the only one that looks to the main street- the noisiest one. The windows are old and let noise and cold in. We asked four times for additional blanket and bedsheet before they give them to us, and when they did the blanked smelled strongly of dust.the air-conditioner is switched off automatically every morning and you need to ask to turn it on every day. Additionally, they refuse to give the remote control and the temperature is fixed at 24 C so you cannot control the room temperature. I guess they save electricity... You also cannot controlthe air stream and the conditioner blowed directly to our faces. It is old and makes the air super dry. I got sore throat. The walls are super thin so we could hear how our neighbours pee. We saw another room and it was twice bigger than ours for the same price. You must leave your key at the reception. In the second evening we asked for our key from a receptionist who had not seen us before and he gave it to us without asking for ID, so we could have very well gotten any key we wanted... The food selection is very poor - they have cold omlette, jelly and 3 kinds of bread. The overall feeling is that you are in a bad antique shop which tried to be a hotel. Me and my husband for the first in our lives had dust allergy. We loked under our beds and saw dust hills and valleys.
Location is quite good. Right opposite the metro. Near on Avenida 9 de Julio there is the supermarket where there are the huge veriety of wines and good choice of food. The famous Cafe Tortoni is very near where you could enjoy the amazing design and wonderful coffee.
Breakfast is very simple. If you're going to walk, there is a rather long distances to the major destinations. But if the weather is wonderful, walking is not burdensome. A two-floors room, which was on the top floor is quite simple. But generally speaking the price and the quality are worth it.
Location is excellent
Location is excellent!
City centre location. Very friendly staff who were willing to help out. Great design and felt grand for the price. Clean and comfortable rooms.
The breakfast was good but eggs needed more seasoning!!
The staff is kind and very helpful. The location is perfect where you can take the Subte, buses or taxis to different parts of BUE.
Noise coming from the streets.
I like everything, it's such a lovely place to stay! The location is excellent - you can go on all of the famous place just in a few minutes from hotel. The Staff is really good. That guys are helpful every moment you need! Hotel is super clean and smoke is prohibited inside the building what makes a big difference in Buenos Aires, where people smoke almost everywhere! The old building has been restored and gives you a comfy place to stay and have a great time with family or friends. Also the collection of arts and antiquarian is amazing, beautiful, just one more attraction of this pretty city. I totally recommend La Fresque Hotel, it's a gorgeous and great place! I'm sure that I'll return soon. Love it!
Nothing! It's pretty great! Some people complain about the AC which has a central control so you cannot change the temperature by yourself but I didn't suffer with it...
the worst hotel i ever stayed
70% Although generally low-wage jobs, receptionists and cleaning ladies were always kind and considered. Decoration was very original, which gave us a nice nostalgic taste of yesteryear's Buenos Aires.
30% We were forced to choose between a slightly gloomy but silent room and a brighter one. We took the second choice because of the view over the Av de Mayo; what a mistake that was — the great deal of noise was rather annoying. I do consider the breakfast was abundant and varied. However, coffee and toasts should be improved; likewise, orange juice came out of a sachet and scramble eggs were overcooked and bland.
I really enjoyed the old world feel of the La Fresque, the location is excellent
Wasn't clear that this was cash only
Great location, beautiful building, nice staff
Low level of English knowledge
The place is very nice. A XIX century building that is now used as a hotel. Very charming.
When I was there, December 2012, Buenos Aires had blackouts. The hotel was affected. One consequence was that the air conditioning was not working. Sleeping with 37°C and no ar conditioning was really hard. We asked the hotel for another room with AC, they said that there was no room avalaible. They did not have any fan to help us cool down.
internet worked well, nice and original interiors, the breakfast area spectacular, location central
desk too small, room a bit humid, some small pieces from the ceiling fell during the night on the bath tub
This place was a lovely place to stay! Right next to the subway and walking distance to many attractions! Breakfast was great (including having Sinatra playing each morning). Funky old building that's been well restored! We loved the old school lift!
They don't give you the a/c control which means you have to ask main desk to switch it on, and if you need it adjusted they have to come to the room to do it, but really this wasn't much of a problem!
I really love this hotel situated smack downtown in the city center (microcentro) and have stayed there several times and will be back again. Reception staff and attention you get from them is really wonderful, thanks Gaston, Andrés and Leandro. Only flipside might be for those that have problems to go up/down the stairs inside the room to the bed but I don´t mind. Nice brakfast buffet.
Staff at reception were great and very helpful. First room was small and they changed it with a bigger and better one without question and extra fee. The hotel building was impressive, like a museum.
The sheets of the bed didn't changed in 9 nights when we were there. Towels must be renewed. Room was simple and not well cleaned.
Really nice and attentive staff in the reception. Good breakfast buffe in a nice and roomy atmosphere. Been here three times before and will definitly come back again.
Since the beds are on a mezzanine which means going up and down the stairs its not ideal for some people but I dont mind.
