Only stairs to the second floor, no elevator - just in case you have heavy bags.
I stayed two nights in March 2015 and must say I was satisfied so can recommend it.
Room is not big but comfortable, not too much space around the bed. Bed is comfortable. Linen and towels are good. Bathroom is good, however not excellent. Shampoo and soap are of basic quality.
Window opens and if you are lucky the view to the town and harbour is great.
Rather quiet but there are connected rooms and you never know who your neighbours can be :-) Old-fashioned safe in the room, free wifi everywhere.
Breakfast is free but simple - water/tea/coffee/juice, cheese and ham, bread, pastry and cakes. You can ask for extra - for example eggs are about $4.
Restaurant/bar is open until midnight in case you arrive late or tired to get outside after a full day activity.
Very close to downtown, 5 mins to the beginning of the main street and a supermarket (open until 21.30 on week days), 15-20 mins to the port. I guess this is "very far from the center" by some standards ;-) you know who I mean especially if you don't like/want walking. It is also uphill, thanks taxi are cheap - $3 to the center.
Taxi to/from airport $7-8 and 15-20 minutes max.
Electric adapters for non-Argentina travellers are available at reception but there are not many of them, so ask early upon arrival. Only 1 accessible power outlet in the room.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
P.S. When I mention $ it's USD, just in case Peso rate changes with time...
