Great place to meet other world travelers, with many activities planned every day.
Bad wi-fi connection and not enough hot water at times
The building is kept in good condition. The courtyard area is very pretty. The dorm rooms are pretty standard in terms of hostels, though the balconies were a nice touch. The atmosphere is very open and the staff is always open to help you find an activity for the day.
The food in the hostel is not very good, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
My experienc in milhouse hipo has been amazing. Making great friends thanks to the activities, from the walking tours to the parties in hipo and avenue. The staff was really great and helpful. Always smiling and talkative. They are super nice since the very first moment One advice, take into account that this is a hostel for meeting people and have fun. If you want to relax and sleep... not the place. But the first day I arrived I went with 14 people to a stake house dinner... and that does not happen in other hostels
The wifi was quite weak, wifi should be improved
Spacious rooms, party events every night, organised group tours, spacious room with big sized locker, good quality comfortable mattress, clean toilet and shower facilities, food downstairs at the bar
The loud noise from bar every night until 2:30am, lack of a Quiet Zone (that other party hostels have), WiFi only present on ground floor and not available at the room - a big minus, bad insulation in the room
Great location, great party hostel
Very helpful staff,lots going on
Very cold rooms, draught Windows. The room was opposite a loud club that was open until 7am
Lots of activities advertised daily. Really sociable hostel. Good cocktail list at the bar.
If they have too many people signed up to go to the club, they don't tell you but they superate the buses so some people get taken to a god awful teen disco alternative. The (loud) dirty cinema next door meant you never felt alone when in the showers. Not enough working plug sockets in the dorm rooms.
Brilliant hostel with everything you need for a great stay in Buenos Aires! Clean, safe, organised, social, friendly, and very comfortable. Breakfast really good too!
O liked the night parties
I cannot say ENOUGH about the staff at Milhouse. Everyone was fantastic--and I mean everyone. Vanessa checked me in, so I have a sweet-spot for her in my heart. But really, all of the other girls and guys made me feel welcome and were very accommodating. The airline lost my bag and the staff called them for me, and had a "bag watch" going while I was out with my new friends. It was fantastic. I had a private double room, and it was just as nice as some of the hotels I had stayed in during my journey. The wi-fi in the living areas was decent. The walking tours and other events the hostel arranged were perfect. When I was there we saw River Plate win the football championship--the hostel arranged this and kept us together and safe. Again, I loved this place! I met people from all over the world and had a great time!
There wasn't anything I "didn't like" necessarily because I went in having an open mind. HOWEVER, I could make two suggestions. 1) This is an old building with a beautiful stone inner courtyard. This courtyard is where the designated smoking area is...and because of the combination of social smoking and STONE it makes the courtyard VERY loud. I would suggest making the smoking area the very top guest floor, or outside the front only. 2) The second suggestion would be to not let guests smoke inside during the parties at night. I first saw a few folks smoking and figured they were just disregarding the fact we were inside, but then I saw staff watch kids light-up and no one said anything. I figured it was allowed--which is weird because this is the same location that becomes the breakfast area in the morning.
Great staff, good tours, located close to everything needed. Great place for parties and meeting people
One card per room. Not a lot of bathrooms. Nowhere to self wash/dry clothes Don't expect to get any sleep here, it's always crazy!
Everything, go now
Amazing experience! I totally reccomend it if you're looking for fun and meeting people from all over the world.
As in any hostel, there's a risk of having people in your room that snore or do not smell that nice.
Great atmosphere. Very welcoming. Easy to meet lots of new people. Friendly helpful staff and very good English.
Communal areas were very loud so it was not possible to Skype as you could not be heard and wi-fi only works in the communal area. Would suggest that the hostel looks into wi-fi access in all areas so private calls can be made from the rooms.
The staff was really nice and the beds were clean. The hostel is in a very good location.
The metal bunkbeds are noisy.
Only good location. nothing more.
Very dirty and uncomfortable beds. The linens and mattress are awful. Loud misuc, disco until 2am, and all guests were drunk. It is not a hostel, it is a whorehouse. I have a big experience in staying in hostels all over the world, and I know what expect. But in this case, I was shocked! The awful smell in the rooms after drunk party. Never stay in this hostel. There many others nearby.
- all staff speaking english (they are very nice and helpful) - nice&clean rooms - interesting trips and activities organized by hostel, some of them free -good location -security guy at the main entrance
-breakfest could be better -rooms terribly hot, without windows (only big entrance doors, which you can not leave opened for the night) -the worst thing - rooms are situated around the yard and it gets extremely loud at night - people gather there, talk, laugh and party, so it's impossible to sleep.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The facilities were always get clean it was a great experience to stay there. Excellent parties as well.
Very good excursions
Noisy! But it is a party hostel!
The voluptuous women
I had a root lined up and the bouncer at the door wouldn't let her in. One of the reception girls' face annoyed me.
The programmes for each day
Kitchen should be open till late so people can order dinner
Good place for a new bee in Buenos Aires. Friendly staff, although party oriented. Bike Tour of the city was really good!
Few windows to the street. Some noise.
The staff were excellent and the rooms had everything you needed. Their organised events made every day a party.
The air-con system is inefficient; the room went from 40 degrees to 15 at night and I had to put on winter clothes to keep myself from getting sick. It is a pity that they waste so much energy, especially since there are blackouts in Buenos Aires
Helpful staff, lots of activities in the hostel, big rooms, great lobby eith a good bar and computers
Staff is great, they all were very polite, helpful, good english and spanish. They know everything and are there to answer your every question. Props to Marco. The parties are great, the tours and everything else. =] Great for young travelers and groups. Do not go if you're a family or an old person... At soul, age doesn't really matter! =]
I had a bit of trouble getting sleep on the first night because the mattress are a bit old and dusty so my allergy was triggered. Nothing a anti-allergic couldn't solve tho. When i first came there were no clean bedding available in the moment so i had to wait a couple of hours for it. Bathrooms are a bit too dirty but that's more on the guests lack of cleanness and respect for common used areas than the hostel's fault. Could be cleaned more often tho...
