NH Gran Hotel Provincial  

Our stay at the NHGP was really enjoyable. We extended our time there from a few days to a week. The room was very spacious (we had the superior extra large double...the bed was huge, maybe larger than a king). I saw the standard double and for the extra money I would upgrade to the superior. Bathroom amenities and bedroom clothing storage area were excellent. The room had incredibly high ceilings and was extra large, so with only a bed night tables, a desk and a chair, it appeared spartan, but that is only a minor detail. The location on the beach and epi center of all the town's acitivities was incredible. At about 7pm every evening there were so many street performers and it was a very exciting place to be. Beach chairs and an umbrella were included in the room price, but the cost of the outdoor ( on the beach pool) was $50 per day for an umbrella and 4 chairs and use of the pool. The inddoor pool and jacuzzi were free. The breakfast buffet for cold food was incredible, with lots of fruits, cereals, pastries, juices, toasts, cheese and meat. The hot items were bacon and eggs. Coffee service was excellent as well. We did not have any other meals at the hotel so I cannot comment on that, but we were within walking distance to a myriad of restaurants at all price levels. I know that there were a number of comments on several web sites about this hotel being deserted. But when we were there at the beginning of February..the high season, the hotel breakfast room was full every morning, though not overly crowded, the elevators busy, and lots of evidence of people in the hotel. I could imagine that in low season, the hotel would seem emply because the lobby is cavernous and the hallways and common areas are the most spacious that I have seen anywhere in the world.

Spacious bedroom, i would recomend upgrading to a better room. Tthe grandeur of the place, even if it's all a bit odd!

Breakfast was good prepared with fresh Raw materials but temperatura of coffee was a bit cold

Creo que "todavia" le falta completar el mobiliario ,pero entiendo la inversion realizada en tan hermoso Hotel y tan tradicional.Tuve la suerte de vivir en el ya que mi padre fue gerente general en el año 1961 con el sr.Donofrio.Nuestro departamento estaba en el 2do.piso y lo he visitado en esta estadia.En los pasillos andabamos en bicicleta !....y desde el comedor nos hacian casitas de chocolate !Esta realmente hermoso.!!!!! La habitación era muy confortable. La decoración muy linda y actual. El desayuno si bien era algo concurrido de excelente calidad y variedad. Mi estadía fue muy corta, no pude usar el gimnasio/spa. La cochera es otro valor agregado así como la ubicación.

Le falta una serie de detalles de decoracion para sentirse mas a gusto,hacerlo algo mas calido(falta de cuadros,colores ,muebles)

Amplitud de los ambientes variedad en el desayuno

Falta de espejo fuera del baño

La amplitud,el hecho de conservar el testimonio de una época porque está muy bien restaurado considerando los años que dicho hotel estuvo practicamente abandonado.

La categoría porque no me parece un 5 estrellas; la gente de la recepción vestida de negro. En general el personal no demuestra ser todo lo profesional que debiera.

Es la primera vez que me ocurre, el hotel dentro de sus servicios en su página web ofrece piscina y parking y al contratarlo te informan que ambos son privados y tienen un costo extra. Deberían al ofrecer los servicios entre paréntesis decir adicional.

El desayuno es muy completo. En el hotel había muchas personas, pero pese a ello nos atendieron rápidamente (en el desayuno). El servicio de playa es cómodo porque el acceso desde el hotel es directo.

Al llegar al hotel nos dijeron que a las 14 hs. nos iban a dar la habitación. Nos retiramos y volvimos al hotel a las 14:45. En ese momento nos dijeron que la habitación aún no estaba lista, pero que en 5 minutos nos iban a solucionar el problema. Estuvimos parados en la recepción hasta las 15:40, momento en el que una de las recepcionistas nos dijo que nos iban a dar otra habitación con dos camas separadas, que las juntarían en el transcurso del día. Obviamente esto nunca sucedió. La atención de conserjería, al menos en el horario de 11 a 16, deja mucho que desear.
