Peaceful location amongst a small vineyard opposite the verandah and an olive grove beyond the lawn behind the vineyard. An inviting pool for weary travellers. Charming and helpful staff. Being in the countryside outside Mendoza we were dependent upon the staff arranging cars for trips, which they willingly did
From the second you arrive they make you fell welcome and at home, to be able just to go and get a drink from the fridge is just great. You can see from looking around the beautiful building the owner care's and has a very good eye for design. The gardens, pool and vines are excellently maintained, and you can see the passion from the grounds keepers. All the staff are aways available to help at any time for any request, whilst leaving you in peace to enjoy the posada and ground's. There is simple but perfect menu,Just let them know your dietary needs and its all taken care of. Don't forget of course to try there own wine, its perfect with some cheese. The rooms are large and clean, great nights sleep. There is a bit of noise from the road but nothing to keep you awake. If you are in the area a need somewhere to stay you can't go wrong here.
Stayed only 2 nights, 4 would have been best.
From the moment we set foot in the posada until the time we sadly had to leave, the whole experience was utter bliss and luxury :) Julia and her staff go to every length to ensure you have the most seamless and relaxing stay and we really can't fault it - it was heaven! And the 3 course dinner option if you decide to eat at the posada is exquisite - literally the best steaks we've ever had, which says a lot coming from my boyfriend who's hobbie is to eat at the best restaurants in London whenever possible! It truly is a beautiful and perfectly managed and maintained place, and we loved every second :) It was hard to tear ourselves away to see the vineyards but cycling around the area was a must and we'd highly recommend it. Thanks so much to Julia and her staff for making our stay just perfect in every way :)
The whole grounds and experience was a perfect way to end our 17 days in Argentina.
The ambiance is great with nice vintage type rooms and comfortable mattress. The TV has english CNN and BBC for news. I enjoyed the hot water with a bidet....love a bidet. The veranda for morning breakfast is very nice with a view of the vineyard and the swimming pool under pleasant shade of huge trees. It was very nice. The breakfast is nice and the service is good. The people here are friendly and helpful....OH, I didn't mention the nice towels and bathrobes...great!
First off, the place is HARD TO FIND even with a GPS. They advertise an address that has a black gate....well, there are LOTS of black gates along that street. Theirs happens to be a solid black gate and not a black bar gate which they should specify. They could put something on the gate such as a verde oliva (green olive) painted tastefully. We drove by it a couple times before we found it. I hate to say what I didn't like but it is what it is....they flood the grounds via a series of gateways for the vines and flowers etc which creates lots of mosquito breeding areas...and there are lots of them. Even with the doors etc closed, they seemed to get into the rooms and dive bomb your ears at night. They do have some kind of mosquito bait burner that does work but, they are in the rooms and I killed at least 15 or more. Good thing the spiders help out hunting them. The rooms are, for the most part clean except for along the baseboards where they don't seem to clean well. The service is very friendly and they are quite nice but, service is a bit spotty. I had to wait before each cup of coffee at breakfast....major faux pas.... You have to go inside to get your breakfast food and then come outside to eat it...no problem but, if they had a big multi cup coffee pot that holds 30 cups of coffee and the food outside with screens over them, we could help ourselves and not sit forever waiting for coffee...even if they brought a carafe of coffee for the table that would be a great improvement. The first day there, I was asked about eggs after I had eaten most of my meat/cheese etc. The next day, I was asked about eggs as soon as I sat down....no consistency. Like I said, if they had the food outside on a table where guest could help themselves, it would MUCH easier on the waitstaff and they wouldn't look so stressed as they were trying to serve the guests....and it wasn't that busy when I was there.
Staff, Location (perfect for visiting local vineyards), rooms, pool, food
hard to fault
My wife and I stayed at Posada Verde Olivia for 4 nights at the end of a two week trip around Argentina. The plan was that this would be the luxurious, relaxing end to our trip and it certainly didn't disappoint! The setting is stunning, with the pool and terraces surrounded by grape vines and well kept gardens. The rooms and lounge areas are extremely comfortable and absolutely immaculate. But it's the staff that made this place stand out for us. The moment you arrived, there was a warm welcome and we were made to feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble - from booking wine tours, lunches and horse riding trips, to going the extra mile and printing details of the various bus times and costs to get us back to Buenos Aires for our flight home. The staff really were brilliant and having met the owner, it is clear that she really does take pride in her Posada and her team. We intended to visit some restaurants in the area, but after our delicious first meal, we decided to eat at the Posada every night. The fillet of beef which we had was as good as anything which we had in Buenos Aires (on par with La Cabrera in!) and if you aren't hungry, then you can opt for the smaller dinner option (empanada's, pizza, salads etc). All in all, a beautiful base from which to explore Argentina's wine region, with excellent service and great food. Too good to miss if you are intending on staying in the area.
Extremly nice and helpful staff. Thank you Brenda, Cintia and Julia!
The food they serve in the posada was very good and staff organised anything we needed. So relaxing that we checked out late so we could stay by the pool for a bit longer.
Amazing property Very secluded Beautiful pool Delicious food Super helpful staff
Very hard to find wine v overpriced at the hotel Strangely quite noisy if your room opens straight on to the terrace (which ours did!)
My friend and I stayed at the Posada this week and had the most relaxing my experience. The overall atmosphere, accommodations and staff were exactly as advertised. I hope to return one day and will recommend to my friends and family. Staff provided excellent service down to helping make dinner and wine tour reservations.
The welcome and the comfort of the Poseda and its surroundings. Also loved the fact that all the staff spoke excellent english and that nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was homemade and delicious and they serve their own wine and olive oil. All the products in the bathroom are made from their own olives.
From the moment we stepped on the property, Julia made us feel at home. The dinner she prepared, the tour she gave us, and the wonderful wine she offered. It was a perfect retreat for our honeymoon and a great place for exploring the surrounding wineries. I was really sad to leave!
Great quiet location in the vineyards with excellent facilities, Very friendly and helpful staff.
Wifi access was intermittent at the time of our stay but the engineer was arriving as we left so hopefully future guests wont have the same issue. Otherwise a great place to stay!
very helpful staff and owner, go out of there way to help lovely setting, with rustic charm lovely food good location for biking around the maipu wineries
Friendly staff and owner. Beautiful nature , best food in south Amerika we got here! ( after 3 months travelling around) We were glad we came in the april, we enjoyed harvesting the Malbec- grapes!
Lovely property with helpful staff. The food prepared by the host was also excellent.
The beds could have been a little more comfortable.
Julia and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The location was beautiful and the room comfortable. The food was top-notch, as well.
Our only problem was finding the posada - they don't have a sign out front and our taxi drivers from Mendoza couldn't find it. Pay close attention to the small address sign!
Beautiful, relaxing posada. Gorgeous room. Lots of areas to relax. Excellent meals two evenings. Thanks to Julia & Paula for recommendations for winery tours. Very enjoyable few days.
Not many places to eat in Maipu at night but found one lovely restaurant near posada & ate in posada 2 nights.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, it was my birthday while I was there and they even got me a present which was so sweet. A beautiful location and charming place to stay. Great location for vineyard tours.
We felt at home there. Lovely owners, lovely place. Very memorable.
Very nice staff who helped us in every way possible. Great food. No need to go out to restaurant. Great place to stay. Highly recommend.
My two suggestions would be better wifi and heat the pool.
Julia's dinners were the best we had in Argentina. Paula and the other gals in the office are friendly and helpful, and Paula knows a lot about Argentina's wines.
The staff were fantastic! We arrived mid-day on my birthday, and they left me a small gift in my room. They also threw together a lunch for us, despite us not telling them that we wanted lunch and it not being typical for them to serve lunch. It was delicious! The staff are also amazing at organizing events and activities; we spent a day hiking in the Andes and a day cycling around to the different wineries in the area. We also ate at two fantastic restaurants in Mendoza, and this was all organized by the staff. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Could not fault the accommodation, garden, pool area and service. Staff were very attentive and provided helpful advice regarding trips and restaurants, and then made all of the arrangements for us. A real bonus that they speak very good English. Well done to Julia and team.
3 course evening meal, whilst pleasant wasn't worth $40 per person. Wine at $25 a bottle, was over the top.
